My life is pretty much a crush. Rush to get ready in the morning, rush to get everything done during the day, rush to get to bed. I’m tired just reading this! Here is a quick synopsis of how I try to put myself together beauty-wise in order to not look completely rumpled and insane. Well, not look rumpled.
Morning
I admit, my “getting ready routine” is easy as pie. I will myself to get out of my comfy bed, peeling my cover hog husband off of me, and hop in the shower. Dove soap is my usual go-to to lather up, but lately I’ve been loving Avène TriXera Nutri-Fluid Cleanser. That stuff is amazing. You can use it on your face and body.
I then moisturize using Nivea Original Moisture Body Lotion. It’s cheap, super rich, and amazing. On my face, I’m using Clinique’s new concentrate underneath Belif Peat Miracle Revital Cream. I wait a few minutes for that to settle in, then I put on a little MAC Concealer in NC50 (saves me from looking dead). Cat eye liner is my jam, so I follow up with Lancôme Artliner liquid eyeliner in black and some blush (usually MAC Raizin or Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic). I draw on my eyebrows with Charlotte Tilbury’s brow pencil in Naomi and now I’m reaching for MAC Cosmetics Verve lipstick on the regular. Perfect nude for me with a hint of plum.
For my hair, I usually wrap it when I sleep so its sleek in the morning. I use a round brush on my bangs and call it a day. Rush out to the car to drive to work.
Daytime
Usually reapply lipstick about a thousand times or stick to lip balm. I like those by Jack Black and Leaves of Trees. I’m a slave to hand cream too. My go-tos are those by Diptyque and Aveda’s Hand Relief hand cream. THE BEST.
Nighttime
If the day has been stressful, I soak in our giant soaker tub which I’m obsessed with. I load that sucker with epsom salts by Dr. Teal’s and bubblebath. I’m not fancy. I still use Mr. Bubble. Sometimes, I add some bath oil by either Dr. Hauschka or Aveda. I love Aveda’s Beautifying Composition Oil. Smells divine.
I wash my face with the Avène TriXera cleanser mentioned above, or use my tried and true Skin Medica Foaming Cleanser. I usually buy two tubes at a time. I then moisturize my face using either a little almond oil, Belif cream or Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules. My skin feels amazing the morning after using those. I hoard them though so they are a bit of a treat that I use here and there.
I comb out my hair using a wide-tooth comb, add marula oil to the ends that my Aunt Sophie gave me, wrap up my hair with a silk scarf and take a flying leap into bed. Sometimes before that flying leap, I’ll apply some cocoa Vaseline to my feet to keep them soft. Oh yeah…and hand cream. I pickle myself.
I drink some water and then visit dreamland.
So many great products here! I love using Clinique products.

These all look so beautiful!! I am all about easy, everyday products and these are just that!
I want to go back to using more ceramide capsules. They’re so good and so cute, too.
