SO! This past Saturday was glorrrriiiiousss!!! The temperature soared to 31C…and I took advantage. I am completely solar powered, and I pretty much came to life. I woke up, got dressed, grabbed my girls and headed downtown to the nearest pretty patio (well, at 3pm – I’m not a lush).
A few weeks ago, I cleaned up at Marshalls Canada. Like I mentioned before, my summer wardrobe needed some help, so off I went in the search of dresses and rompers, and maybe a pair of kick-ass shoes. While I didn’t score any shoes, I did buy every cute romper they had and an awesome little dress (more on that later).

This little romper though. Wow – what a crowd pleaser. On the way to meet Alyssa in the Courtyard in downtown Ottawa, I was stopped several times by admirers wanting to know where I got it. “Marshalls!” I cheerfully explained to one lady as I diplomatically shooed her hands away from the ruffles at the legs. These pictures don’t do it justice, really. It’s the softest shade of rosé – those great blush pink rosés from France that are so good, dry and refreshing, you thank God for the French with each sip.
The pale pink fabric also has a fine silver thread running through it which gleams in the light too. Sigh – the details are just too good! From the dainty ruffles to the beautiful back detail (I’m so sorry I didn’t get a shot), this little romper is special. My favourite feature is the shoulder detail. Spaghetti straps hold up this little number, crisscrossing and tying prettily at the back. The sleeves sit beautifully on the arms highlighting your shoulders. This truly is the most feminine little outfit I’ve purchased in a long time.
I sat on a patio that day with my girlfriends, soaking up the sun, catching up and laughing until we cried. We sipped rosé and enjoyed the fantastic late spring weather that is so synonymous with the Ottawa valley.
I’ll be reaching for this pretty little outfit a lot this summer. The linen fabric is comfortable, light and airy, and its pretty details are perfect for any occasion – my favourite being spending a hot, sunny day with friends.
