I am a huge Elizabeth Arden fan. My obsession started early when I stumbled upon the Eight Hour Cream years ago. During a particularly rough winter, I developed the worse hangnails ever and that cream healed them in record time. When Elizabeth Arden approached me to test out a few of their products daily for two weeks and write about my experience, I hopped at the chance to write about the challenge results and positive changes in my skin!
I received the Ceramide Youth Restoring Essence and the new and improved Advanced Ceramide Capsules – Daily Youth Restoring Serum. In addition, I decided to add the Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask to the regimen because, hey – why not?
Now, I don’t really need to start using anti-aging products yet, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Skincare is one of my favourite things and Elizabeth Arden’s products always deliver. A personal favourite of mine is her Prevage Anti-Aging Hydrating Fluid – one of the best moisturizers I’ve used and one of the only facial sunscreens that does not make my face ashy. Well, without further jabber, on to the review!
Ceramide Youth Restoring Essence
This is possibly my favourite Elizabeth Arden skincare product of all time! Light and refreshing, this water-based treatment packs a ton of hydration into your skin. This formula contains 73 (!!!) different minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium and more to promote healthier-looking skin. It also revitalizes skin to provide a healthy moisture barrier which is essential to glowy, radiant look.
This water-like formula is so refreshing. I chalk it up to it being loaded with aloe vera, hyaluronic acid and Pro-Vitamin B5. I pour a little into the palm of my hand and pat the essence into my combination-oily skin, being careful to avoid the eyes. Waiting for it to absorb, I then apply my Superstart Skin Renewal Booster.
I definitely noticed that my face felt more hydrated after applying. It also made my skin a little brighter. This is a perfect product for those with dry skin too. Please note that this product has a light and fresh fragrance that dissipates quickly.
Advanced Ceramide Capsules – Daily Youth Restoring Serum
When I opened the box and saw these little capsules in their gorgeous container, my beauty-loving heart skipped a beat. I have always wanted to try these things, and I finally got my chance!
Each capsule contains the powerful serum which increases the skins’ barrier repair function which leads to higher cell turnover. Additionally, it is a powerful moisturizer which minimizes the signs of aging. Each capsule is biodegradable too along with being fragrance and preservative-free.
I twisted the little neck of the capsule off and emptied it into my hand. I soon discovered that it was way too much, which kinda made me happy because I could make the container last twice as long! The formula is super hydrating and has a wonderful slip similar to a face oil. This makes sense as one of the primary ingredients is “Tsubaki oil” rich in Omega 6 and 9 acids.
The morning after using these capsules, I was stunned. My face hadn’t been that soft and smooth in a while! Truly! My skin looked glowy and wonderful. This is another all-star product that I will be restocking in the future. Thanks to its incredible effectiveness, I’ve started toting around a few capsules in my gym bag. Amazing for after a nice sauna session!
Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask
For the first couple of days, I used the Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask as the last part of my nighttime skincare routine. I found it a tad heavy over the Advanced Ceramide Capsules, so I removed it from the regimen. It is excellent on its own though. You can read my review on this powerful moisturizer here.
Verdict
Well, it’s safe to say that these products have pretty much changed my skincare regime for the better! The capsules are incredible and the darling of the Ceramide line. They offered me a softness and suppleness in my skin that is next to impossible to achieve during the winter months.
The Youth Restoring Essence is lovely to use and made me feel awake and bright in the morning. I love the act of putting it on. Patting it into my skin was a chance to slow down and enjoy the process of taking care of my face. LOVE!
