When Willow Jewelry reached out to me for a collaboration, I was really happy. When I realized that the owner was from Trinidad & Tobago – next door to my motherland of Barbados, I was THRILLED!
My pieces from Willow Jewelry have already become favourites. The simple, organic designs are beautiful and unique – and in my opinion, stand out from a lot of jewelry out there.
When I look at my brass choker with hammered detail, I’m actually reminded of island life. As mentioned previously, its design is simple, organic and devoid of trendy details. Like life in the Caribbean, this choker is easy, relaxed and comfortable. Since I like to keep things a little “extra”, I wore it to the beach paired with my black bikini and with an all-black outfit for rum punches with the Darling Husband.
What I love best about the brass choker – other than the fact that it did not tarnish in the Barbadian humidity – is the compliments it elicits! It’s easy to understand why. The golden colour is eye-catching against my skin and its perfect fit is totally flattering.
I also scored the clear crystal wrap choker, and what better place to wear it than my cousin Kai’s surfing competition? Kai just so happens to be Captain of the National Barbados Surf Team – SO PROUD! Made with a long strand of jute and a beautiful piece of quartz, it looked amazing paired with my neon coral bikini. This particular piece is truly lovely and looked relaxed and cool with an oversized white boyfriend tee and my vintage Levi’s shorts I wore sightseeing. This piece will definitely be making an appearance at the music festivals I already have booked for this summer.
