Picture it….highschool, circa 19…none of your business!! LOL! I am heading to a formal dance and need a dress. My mom, bless her heart, drives me to Melanie Lyne and after much begging, buys me the dress of my teenage dreams. It’s dusty rose satin, with a black lace overlay. The hem is scalloped along with the little cap sleeves. Featuring a little balconnette detail at the bust, I felt beautiful and all grown up. I cherished that dress, and it is still hanging in my closet (and it still fits – mike drop).

Featuring one of the best selections of high-quality ready-to-wear, I’m always sure to check it out during my stops at the local Ottawa malls such as Carlingwood Shopping Centre. Case in point, while wandering around aimlessly at Carlingwood, I decided to pop into Melanie Lyne for a quick peek around. This resulted in me scoring a black satin trench coat complete with full ball skirt trimmed in ruffles. Sounds crazy, right? Well, I saw that same beautiful design with the ultra nipped-in waist waltzing down a Christian Dior runway.
