Easter Chic: Brightening Up The Wardrobe For Spring

While visiting my sister in Toronto a few weeks ago, I popped into my not-so-secret favourite store, Aritzia, and picked up a few items that instantly made me feel less freezing cold and looking forward to spring. I had been on the hunt for a huge, cozy blanket scarf for months to keep me from freezing to death in my office, and Aritzia had more than enough to choose from.

Pastels are among my favourite colours out there.  There is something to be said for soft pinks, baby blues and milky shades ranging the gamut from minty greens to dusty lavenders and soft yellows. Maybe it’s the girly girl in me…I just can’t resist. Maybe it’s my love of Cadbury Mini-Eggs…but I digress.

There is an art to wearing pastels though. I lean towards feminine, grown up styles to avoid looking like a first grader. I picked up a beautiful midi length pleated skirt in a blush colour that is both on trend yet perfect for work. I refuse to wear mini dresses in pastel colours because “Playboy Bunny” is NOT a look I am going for. That being said, a pastel monochrome look topped off with nude heels is killer. I saw a lavender lace dress at DVF  that would look beautiful paired with simple neutral, strappy sandals. Additionally, any pastel colour looks amazing paired with white jeans.

DVF Amal Drop Waist Dress – on my spring wishlist

For hair, I try to keep my hair simple and undone while wearing pastels for a light, airy look. I usually always default to my favourite style of loose, beachy waves.

I picked up this entire outfit at Aritzia (minus the jewelry and shoes), and have been wearing each of these items on repeat ever since.

Love the whole outfit but specially that tank top, is it as comfortable and well fitting as it looks? That’s the kind of top I could buy in every color and wear nearly every day as it looks like it looks great under a suit jacket as well.

HONESTLY – YES. It’s soo perfect! I wear it constantly! It now comes in pale lavender (but I don’t see that colour on the site, but it’s available in store), white, black and camel. It’s the perfect piece for under a suit! Good call! Thank you for reading!

You look absolutely stunning in your pastels. I love them too but can’t always find the right item. I love that the pattern and color of your shawl/scarf.

    • March 28, 2016 / 2:23 pm

Hi Elizabeth! That’s what is so great about the scarf. It’s made of pastel colours that are a little easier to wear as opposed to a baby pink dress, or pale blue pants. A nice pastel accessory to add to a wardrobe. Thanks for reading!

That’s it, I’ve found the most perfect spring look. You’re rocking it right here. I love absolutely everything you’ve put together with this look, especially rocking that blanket scarf as a shawl. It’s perfection!

Also I’m absolutely in love with your necklace. But I have a super soft spot for chokers these days so… that’s where that came from.

Hi, you look stunning! May I ask which lipstick you are wearing? I’m about your complexion and would love to try it. Thanks

    • April 19, 2016 / 10:58 am

Hi Dany! Thanks for the kind compliment! It’s MAC Cosmetics “Whirl” – made popular by Kylie Jenner. I found it really hard to find since Kylie started wearing it and everyone started buying it! LOL! I also lined my lips with MAC Cosmetics “Cork” lip liner. Good luck and thanks for reading! Other dupes for the lipstick are MAC Touch and MAC Taupe. xo
