Well, there are seven more days until Christmas and you are scrambling to get everything done on time. There’s finishing up the grocery shopping for the big day, getting your home decorated and all festive and of course, the last minute gifts for the loved ones.
Money is getting tight too. What to do? Start shopping like a boss.
As I sit here typing while stressing out about my own last-minute to-dos, I thought I’d make a list to help you out too. Let’s get started!
Shop Strategically
I’ve made a list of everything I need to get done before the 25th, including what last minute gifts I need to get. I need to save money too as I still need to buy the turkey and wine for Christmas dinner. So, what does the budget shopper do? She heads to Retail Me Not.
Retail Me Not is an online source for store coupons, promo codes and notice of online sales at your favourite stores such as Amazon, The Hudson’s Bay, Toys ‘R Us and Best Buy Canada. Most of these retailers are working over time to get you your goods before Christmas too. In fact, I just scored a velvet dress for an upcoming holiday party from Retail Me Not that is being delivered tomorrow. Yep – I ordered it yesterday. SCORE!
Take Advantage Of The Online Sales
I’m looking for Cards Against Humanity, the wildly popular “party game for horrible people”. Instead of heading to several stores and praying I find it, I’m simply googling it to find it. Through this, I found a few online deals on the game and boom, saving 15% off.
I’m also finding a ton of free shipping deals too. It’s great!
Don’t Stress Out!
I know, I know. That’s pretty much impossible at this time of year, but it’s worth it to just slow down and take a breath. Malls are packed and exhausting, traffic is deadly, and people are getting cranky.
If you have to hit several stores at once, travel strategically. Maybe consider taking a little time off work and heading out way before rush hour. You could also consider getting all of your gifts at one place instead of travelling all over the city. I like to hit the biggest mall in my city first thing in the morning to beat the crowds.
How Retail Me Not Can Help You
My favourite way of shopping? ONLINE. No crankly people, no line-ups, no circling a parking lot 70 times looking for an elusive spot for my poor car.
As I mentioned, this year, I really took advantage of www.retailmenot.ca. I scored a great pair of shoes for my friend at 30% off at Aldo, and saved a bunch of money on some great scarves at H&M with the discount code provided by Retail Me Not. I didn’t pay any shipping fees either thanks to Retail Me Not’s heads up and checking out was simple. Nothing like getting all of your Holiday shopping done from the comfort of your sofa while sipping on some eggnog!
Are you guys done your Holiday shopping? Hope you aren’t scrambling around like crazy! Happy Holidays!!
*Thank you Retail Me Not for sponsoring this post.
Shopping strategically and paying attention to online sales was the saving grace for me this year. Thank so much for these tips!
I am a huge online shopping fanatic! Cyber Monday usually gets my shopping out of the way! I have to use RetailMeNot more however!
I didn’t have any plans for Christmas shopping this year, but these are all awesome tips. There aren’t any kids in my family since I’m the youngest, and my mom gets gifts all year round, so there’s no big fuss around Christmas.

That is sooo smart! I’m kind of kicking myself for only discovering RetailMeNot now! And those socks are soooo comfy. They are lined with the same material they make teddy bears with! LOL! COZY!
I’ve heard a few things about Retail Me Not and plan on looking into it for sure. This post has simply encouraged that. Saving money is always a priority for me. PS – those socks are everything!

So awesome! Smart girl!
Decorating is a skill set I hope to improve on, so a post like this gives me motivation!!
I’ll have to check this out. I always do almost all my Christmas shopping online as all of my relatives live far away and I’m not trying to be out in that craziness with my kids. This sounds like a great helper.
We only do 1 gift per child because we take a trip for Christmas. Even for a trip, I check deal sites and other sites to get the best rates.
These are some great tips! Def going to have to use retailmenot for some things!
I want those red sleepers. My husband keeps our house forever chilly so these socks would be perfect to warm my toes.
