This was a pretty easy day. I had the day off from work and decided to do a little Christmas shopping…but first, coffee. I met up with my friend Tara to grab a latte at Ministry of Coffee and Social Affairs in Hintonburg before getting the day’s errands underway.
It was gloomy out…and officially the last day before the weather turned all “nuclear winter”. Frankly, I can’t believe that there are only 11 more days until Christmas! I mean, where does the time go? One minute, I’m gearing up for music festivals and drinks on patios. The next? I’m wondering where I put my snowsuit.
I had a ton of errands to run after we got caffeinated, so I wanted to be comfortable but still look good. After all, I’m still traumatized by that pre-teen I ran into at Forever 21 who commented that I “didn’t look anything like I do on Instagram”. Ouch.
During a recent trip to good ol’ Winners at the urging of my friend Melissa, I found these awesome, AWESOME Citizens of Humanity cropped flares at 50% off. I fell to my knees and thanked God at that moment for finding these gems. Have you noticed all the amazing stuff you find for yourself while Christmas shopping?
I’ve also been really feeling lurex lately and have been wearing this favourite graphite-coloured crew neck I scored from Aritzia on Black Friday. It has the most subtle silver thread running through it which gleams when you hit the light just right.
I topped this look off with some of my favourite accessories: my Jenny Bird hoop earrings, a great leather belt from Aldo, some sexy fishnets from Holt Renfrew, my favourite Céline dupe boots from L’Intervalle and my baby, a striped Gucci Marmont Mini Bag.
I felt pretty darn chic hitting up the mall for gifts and decorations, and blasting through the grocery store of dinner stuffs. I tell ya, shopping for tenderloin is a lot more fun when you look good.
