My Winter/Spring Transitional Style

Ottawa’s winter is hanging on for dear life….unwilling to relinquish its grip to spring. Sigh – what are you gonna do? What any good Canadian does….bust out the spring wardrobe despite the arctic temperatures.

As March graced us with its presence, I couldn’t bear to wear my heavy parka, boots, mitts, hat and heavy woolen scarf any longer. So, I switched all of these out for lighter options. Lighter fabrics, lighter colours…lighter everything.

A creature of habit, I try to dress down, but always end up looking a tad fancy. I chalk this up to this great camel coat that is classic and elegant, topped off with this lightweight, dove grey cashmere scarf c/o Etugen Cashmere. In true “cashmere form”, this scarf is really light yet supremely warm and soft.

I’m Wearing

Coat (gifted) – Zaful (no longer available)

Scarf (gifted) – Etugen Cashmere (sold out!)

V-Neck – Forever 21 (similar)

Jeans – Topshop

D’Orsay Pumps – L’Intervalle

Bag (gifted) – Marleylilly

I love myself a sleek winter/spring transitional style look, so I wore head to toe black underneath – black skinny jeans from Topshop and the perfect fitted v-neck that I scored from Forever 21 a million years ago (it pays to take care of your fast fashion). To top everything off, I thought I’d be a little extra by wearing my black d’Orsay pumps from L’Intervalle and a classic leather bucket back from Marleylilly.

As I patiently wait out winter, I’m continuing to store away the winter gear and gradually flip my wardrobe over to spring/summer goodies. I’m lookin’ at you, little white eyelet dress! *love*

What is your fave transitional look?
