You would probably be surprised to know that I am a sucker for Valentine’s Day. The romance, the kisses, the cuddles…I’m in love with love.
That fluttery feeling you get when that special person enters the room – is there anything better??? Last year, my husband gave me a bouquet of stuffed roses for Valentine’s Day. Think “stuffed animal”, but roses. That’s right, a bunch of long-stemmed pink and red, three-foot-long roses. We dissolved into laughter and stole a few kisses. *swoon*

This year, The Hubs is taking me out for dinner and movie and I’m excited. Mainly for the date, but also for getting ready for the outing. I’m a girly girl, so I knew I was reaching for the reddest, pinkest outfit I could find.
Last week, I entered my closet and got to work. I pumped up the music and had fun putting outfits together, sipping champagne and grooving to my fave tunes.
Reese sat at my feet, looking at me sing into my flat iron/microphone and then cuddled up into a pink teddy coat I had ordered a few weeks before. A lightbulb went off as I watched him cozy into it and try to bogart it for his dog bed, and just like that, a Valentine’s Day outfit was born.
Grabbing a sexy, scarlet bodysuit and some cropped jeans, I slipped the teddycoat on and fell in love. It was perfect. The fun little heart-shaped minaudière topped off the look and I was date-ready.
As Marvin Gaye crooned in the background, I admired myself in the mirror while slow-dancing with Reese when I heard a laugh in the background. There was The Hubs, staring at both of us, giggling at the ridiculous scene. He asked the pup if he could cut in and kisses ensued. The look, the experience…the whole thing was perfect. That right there would have made a perfect Valentine’s Day…
