The first time I saw a pair of Dior So Real sunglasses in real life was at the Merivale Optometric Centre. I walked in…and there they were, staring me in the face like a mirage in the desert! The Holy Grail of sunglasses…in a myriad of colours. As I dropped to my knees and thanked God that this optometric showroom existed, I marvelled at how many places I’d travelled to and had been unable to locate a pair of these wildly covetable shades. Holts in Toronto, Holts in Montreal, Selfridges in London, countless sunglass stores all over, they were SOLD OUT. And it’s understandable. Every celebrity and fashion editor worth her weight in designer sunglasses was sporting them.
Dr. Joelle Zagury, an optometrist at the Merivale Optometric Centre, a stylish lady with her finger on the pulse of what’s uber current, stocked the showroom with these sunnies. A stylish and witty Montrealer, Joelle is the type of person you want to be friends with. The first time I met her, I liked her instantly. Her fun sense of humour, the stylish clothing, the interesting eye facts that she drops on you that make you put down your eye-ruining iPhone immediately – she was my type of people. She likened herself to a “quiet nerd”, and I bellowed in laughter as this classy optometrist was sporting gold glitter Chiara Ferragni “Flirting” flats. Some “nerd”! I was dually impressed as I looked around noting that the clinic specializes in covetable eyewear from the likes of Céline Paris, Dior Paris, Caroline Abram, Jimmy Choo, Fendi, some hard-to-find Raybans out there and more. Dr. Zagury ensures that the stock leaves you wanting everything.
On October 27, 2016, Merivale Optometric Centre will be hosting Les Parisiens Ladies Night – a chic event benefitting Canadian Guide Dogs For The Blind. Invitees will be treated delicious French nibblies and wine while shopping the most stylish frames available in Ottawa – at exclusive discounts too!
I’m thrilled to attend this event and support this noble charity which provides Canadians with greater mobility and independence through the use of professionally trained guide and mobility assistance dogs. A good friend of mine fostered a puppy from Canadian Guide Dogs For The Blind and not only was “King” one of the cutest puppies ever, he was smart as a whip.
So, I extend this invite out to you all and hope to see you on October 27th from 4-8pm! Please RSVP to info@merivale.net. Come view the extensive Caroline Abram and Dior Paris eyewear and treat yourself to a great pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses…or in my case, BOTH.
Happy Shopping!
