High-Cut Bathing Suits and Bikinis: Top Tips For Flattering Your Figure

As a kid, I used to watch 20-Minute Workout in awe (I grew up in the 80s). The larger-than-life hair, the ridiculous editing, and the AMAZING outfits. Those high-cut workout looks were pretty much the reason why viewership was 99% male. Never in a million years did I think those high-cut styles would come back, but they did – with a vengeance…and I love it.

What I’m Wearing

Billie Bikini – Nora Swim | Sunnies – Chloé

I finally got my hot little hands on several high-cut bikinis this summer which I’ve featured on both my blog and Instagram. Everybody loves these looks, but I also got a ton of DMs from women stating that while they loved this trend, they weren’t “shaped like a Victoria’s Secret model and could never wear one”. That got me to thinking. This trend is a hard one that is either love it or hate it, but I truly think women of all shapes can rock it. So, I did a little research and came up with some tips on how to wear this super sexy look to flatter your figure, no matter what shape it is.

Top Tips For Rocking High-Cut Bathing Suits And Bikinis

Remember – Just Rock It

No matter what size or shape you are, just rock this damn look. Be confident. Strut out on that beach and love the skin and high-cut bikini you’re in. If others can rock their back hair, epic beer guts and the like with gusto, you can rock this sexy-as-hell look.

For Curvy Dolls

Find a high-cut look that is cut high on the leg but dips lower below the navel like this one I’m sporting by Aya Morrison. This style creates a v-shape that enhances your curves. These are also great for those who don’t have too much of a waist…it creates the illusion of an hourglass figure.

Sigh – since this isn’t always the most forgiving look, make sure to clean up that bikini line!

Splurge On A Good Quality Suit

Some low-end bikinis stretch out and sag. With this particular style, it pays to get the best quality you can afford. I know, I know, bathing suits are getting so damn expensive, but trust me on this one. Can’t afford the whole thing? Get the high-cut bottoms and pair with your favourite top.

Some Bonus Tips!

  1. High-cut bottoms make your legs look a mile long…great for my shorter gals!
  2. Choose a solid print, or a smaller print. This won’t distort your proportions.
  3. If you are tall, straight and slim, get that string bikini, honey! Smoking hot! Check out Emily Ratajkowski’s swimwear line, Inamorata, for itty bitty looks.

And tere you have it, Dominators! Do you already have a sexy, high-cut bathing suit/bikini? Where did you get yours? I’m looking to boost my collection!
