Let me tell you about my love of shoes. They are beautiful. I’m obsessed. Some are works of art for the feet. Others are so damn comfy, you never want to take them off. Others are so ugly, they are good. All in all, shoes are a part of my wardrobe that I cherish.
My shoe love pretty much knows no bounds. During my last trip to London, I grabbed my best friend Jen and we skipped merrily to the Selfridge’s shoe salon where we tried on pretties from Sophia Webster and Louboutin. We salivated over a pair of Valentino Rockstud block heels while an unimpressed salesperson hawkeyed us. I cheered as Jen took the plunge and nabbed a sweet pair of Jimmy Choos.
Since I’ve started this blog, my style has evolved. I’ve gotten a better handle on my personal style which led to shopping with purpose. This new found style led me to invest in a beautiful shoe wardrobe that I’m proud of.
Speaking of being proud, I was honoured when Dress For Success enlisted me to host their Stepping Out 2018 Shoe Competition. I quickly scanned my collection of “shoe art” and settled on a pair of patent, metallic cobalt blue stilettos. Perfect for a host judging some of the coolest shoes in the city.
The competition takes place tomorrow evening at Lago Bar & Grill here in Ottawa. I would love it if you all joined me for this great fundraiser benefitting Dress For Success, which helps women in our community achieve economic independence and professional success.
