This New Skincare Launch Made My Winter Skin Feel Summer Ready

The weather this past weekend was glorious…and I indulged with a little sun worshipping (within reason of course). My skin was pale and a little sallow after this seemingly interminable winter, so I took the opportunity to take in the warmth and enjoy every moment of these summer-like conditions.

There was sitting on a patio on Friday evening before the Dress For Success Shoecase Competition, followed by gardening in the sun on Saturday, enjoying drinks on more patios on Saturday evening, then a Mother’s Day lunch in our now summer ready backyard.

My skin now has a sunkissed, dewy glow that I live for. Recently, I’ve tucked away the winter skincare regime and pulled out a few of my summer favourites which are lighter, yet still pack the same hydrating, skin-loving benefits.

In the summer, I’m no longer obsessed with making sure my skin doesn’t dry out thanks to our super humid climate here in Ottawa. I’m more concerned with evening out my skin tone and keeping greasy skin at bay. Also, I spend a lot of time in the sun (covered suncreen!), so I want to make sure my skincare regime contains ingredients that will ward off sun-induced sagging and wrinkles for as long as possible.

I recently received Biotherm’s Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift Visible Aging Repair Firming Rose Cream and Intensive Daily Firming Cure and got to testing right away. This line is geared towards those who want young-er, firmer looking skin without invasive techniques such as botox and fillers. My skin was already starting to feel a little tight with the increased sun exposure so I was anxious to try these products to soothe my skin.

After a particularly long and sweaty gardening session, I treated myself to a long shower and pampered my facial skin with this hydrating liquid. After a thorough cleansing, I applied this “microemulsion” to my face, neck, and decolletage and it immediately felt wonderful.

This intensive cure promises to uplift skin by diving deep into skin and infusing beneficial red algae extracts to repair damage and boost skin’s health, especially when used for 28 days straight. Highly moisturizing, this emulsion made my skin feel pretty soft and smooth immediately, and definitely took the sting out of the light sunburn I suffered that day.

This cream is a serious delight! It’s rich and wonderful but melts into skin nicely leaving you looking dewy and refreshed. It also smells amazing and clean! It’s a personal favourite to use after a workout.

If you have been following my blog, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of dewy, glowing skin. This cream delivers that look easily. It makes skin look plump and healthy, and the morning after using, skin is left feeling incredibly soft.

The Uplifting Firming Rose Cream’s main ingredient is red algae, which supposedly has the ability to transform tired skin as it contains pure thermal plankton which in turn, contains 35 skin-essential ingredients such as proteins, vitamins and amino acids – which all help the skin to heal and regenerate faster.

I have been using both of these products for the last several weeks and I’m definitely noticing a more even and smooth skin tone. At the very least, both of these products are wonderfully refreshing and a pleasure to use after long, hot days.

I think the main thing I’ve noticed is that my pores look a little smaller after using both the Daily Firming Cure and Rosy Cream. I attribute this to Biotherm’s promise that both of these products will plump up your skin for a more youthful look. Whatever it is, I’m happy with how my skin has been holding up during this testing process!
