This past weekend was AMAZING. I was invited to attend Toronto Women’s Fashion Week (yay!) and was thrilled to have another opportunity to visit T-dot. In true fashion blogger form, I immediately started thinking about comfortable styles I wanted to pack. Sympli immediately came to mind.
Toronto is one of my favourite cities of all time and I travel down to “Little New York” frequently. With a sister who lives in the vibrant Queen Street West area, I try to see her as often as I can. Frankly, I’ll use any excuse to go down to The 6ix. Being invited to sit front row at a popular fashion show was the icing on the cake.
Don’t Schlep Around – Comfortable Style Is Your Friend!
In a previous post, I wrote about how I was sick of looking like a schlep while I travel. Well, I got rid of those hideous track pants and started a “travel style capsule collection” that I’m pretty proud of. Now, I’m working on a capsule collection of pieces that bring comfortable style to the next level. With countless meetings all over the city, it’s important to me to look great yet be comfortable darting all over the place.
Since I’m in my car a lot or sitting on planes or trains for hours, fabrics that breathe, don’t wrinkle and aren’t too tight are first on my list. I also wanted to build a collection around my favourite pieces like flattering jeans, sumptuous fabrics, neutrals and the occasional pop of colour.
Sympli’s Nuglimpse T
My favourites pieces in my wardrobe that I reach for constantly are comfortable jeans, light cashmere sweaters, Chelsea boots and a good scarf. I’ve also added this uber flattering Nuglimpse T from Sympli. Made of a lightweight jersey, its looser fit is flattering and comfortable. Best of all, its peekaboo shoulders give it a ton of style! I love that this shirt says: “style, comfort and class”, instead of “get me to my hotel room asap before anyone sees me wearing worn out leggings and a 20-year-old hoodie. Wait a minute. Is that Ryan Gosling at the baggage carousel? OMG – it is.”
In addition to its great fit and pretty shoulders, it has split sides for extra chic-osity. Details like this are a sign of great design and carefully-made clothing. I paired my Nuglimpse T with some distressed white jeans that looked fresh and crisp. My black suede heels were the perfect complement to the outfit and looked polished for my fitting with a designer later that day.

*Thanks to Sympli for providing me with this perfect piece in exchange for my honest opinion.
I like being comfortable and cute when I travel. I think you look quite fabulous in this style, especially those pants. I would probably opt for slightly looser pants when on a long plane ride, but this would work for me on short-distance flight for sure.

Hey Cheryl! Thanks for your kind comments! Those pants are “Jamie Jeans” from Top Shop and they are surprisingly comfortable for skinnies. They are pretty lightweight – I think that’s why. Take care and thanks for commenting!
You look fabulous! I love the off the shoulder details. And, these denim, girl! LOVE! XO
