A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being photographed for Krowd Magazine’s Krowd Street Style feature. It’s always an honour to work with this polished glossy, so I jumped at the chance when they contacted me. You can check out the feature here, and check out the rest of the site – it’s gorgeous. I hope to become half as talented as Arnold is when it comes to photography.
I normally stress out hard in the days leading up to these types of photoshoots as sometimes, I’m not even sure what is appropriate dress for an “influencer”. Should I stick to my ladylike roots or should I wear what seems to be the the standard blogger uniform of perfectly distressed this and that, covetable delicate jewelry, statement sunnies worth more than my car, etc, etc.?
While nervously perusing the options in my closet, wringing my hands and contemplating spending my savings on a whole new wardrobe, I decided finally to stick to what makes me feel beautiful: a light, airy dress. I packed away my beloved Levi’s and reached for my Cupcakes and Cashmere dress – a total score that I found on the Nordstrom website during the blowout #NSale.
Finding this dress was a bit of a miracle too, one bestowed upon me by the awesome Octer website. Octer is my new shopping obsession as it makes shopping a total breeze. Serving as an aggregator for several of my fave sites such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Liberty of London and more, this British-bred mobile shopping site compiles clothing, accessories, homewares, etc. into a very easily shoppable experience.
I logged on, clicked on the “Dresses & Skirts” section and was provided with more dress options than my little heart could manage. Like any great shopping site, you can filter your options into many different categories such as skirt length, colour, occassion, fit, material…you name it.

After happily wading through tons of gorgeous options on the Octer site, I finally settled on this super girly and pretty, ice-blue Cupcakes and Cashmere dress…and I have been wearing it on repeat. I LOVE IT. I also snagged a gorgeous Diptyque candle, but more on that to come in a future blog post.
