Another Toronto Women’s Fashion Week (TWFW) has come and gone, and this one was stellar!
I was invited to TWFW SS2018 by Redken and 1 Milk 2 Sugars and was treated like a princess. My sis Erika and I arrived, full of nerves and excitement for the night’s shows, and were immediately whisked backstage to have our hair done.
Erika needed to pinch me – I was hyperventilating. TWFW is always a complete thrill for me, but to have this sort of A-list treatment was quite literally a dream come true!
Once backstage, I was seated at Cindy’s station – a fabulous hairstylist with a rocker edge. The wonderful Ruth of 1 Milk 2 Sugars handed me a flute of Verve Cliquot while Cindy’s assistant Cassandra prepped me for my “hair reawakening”. Cindy asked me what I would like to have done, and I started stammering.
Me: “I d-d-d-unno. Umm – something cool, I guess? Maybe something center parted? Umm…”
Cindy: “I’m gonna slick your hair back, honey.” OK then!
For the next 30 minutes, Cindy and Cassandra worked their magic on me and I am SO HAPPY I stepped outside of my comfort zone and let Cindy do her thing. The results were incredible. Not only did I feel edgy and “fashion”, I felt completely beautiful and pampered.
I’m no stranger to Redken. Redken has one of the best conditioners on the market – their award-winning All Soft Conditioner that works miracles on dry and damaged hair. I’ve been using it off and on for a while now even though my hair isn’t damaged. You cannot beat its detangling and softening qualities.
Redken also makes a favourite hairspray – Quick Dry 18 Instant Finishing Spray. It’s a strong-hold hairspray that leaves my hair soft and shiny, and doesn’t make it feel stiff and hard.
After the shows and being treated like a queen by Redken, I left TWFW feeling inspired and vowing to try new things fashion and makeup-wise. I also loaded up on the entire All Soft haircare line once I got home. Heading into winter, I need all of the extra moisture and softness I can get!
