August was a good month, beauty-wise. I went on a beauty shopping spree at Holt Renfrew and Etiket and discovered some all-stars that will now forever be in my beauty arsenal.
In addition, I received two wonderful new additions to my perfume collection: My Burberry Black and Miss Dior. I’m pretty thrilled with both, especially since I’ve wanted Miss Dior for a while now. As for My Burberry Black, that was a wonderful surprise that I’ll get into right now.
My Burberry Black
Bless my friend Lorella’s heart. I was down in the dumps over the summer, worrying about my Dad and still sad at the passing of my beloved Grandmother. Top that off with stressing about work and the blog keeping me really busy, I was feeling not myself at all.
Lo sensed this and whisked me off for an impromptu lunch. As we were about to dig into wraps and salads, she presented me with a beautifully wrapped bottle of My Burberry Black. After the tears of happiness stopped, I marvelled at what a thoughtful and amazing gift it was! You see, we went to dinner a week or so before and she smelled wonderful. She was wearing My Burberry Black and I made a mental note to just buy it, it smelled so sexy and wonderful.
My Burberry Black is sensual, sexy and perfect for fall. A very memorable scent, it contains notes of jasmine, roses and peach, and finishes off with patchouli and amber. It goes on strong, but dries down to a lovely, sexy scent. I truly cannot get enough. It was perfect for the late night dinners we went to in London and Barcelona.
Miss Dior
The Miss Dior fragrance is actually one that was produced by the House of Dior in 1947, and has since been reformulated many times. The latest iteration is incredibly feminine and soft, and reminds me of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle. I gifted my Mum with a beauty gift basket which contained this perfume and for some reason, she didn’t want it. I scooped it up!
This perfume has chypre notes (a sharp scent based on oak, patchouli and bergamot). With its fresh notes of citrus and floral, it then develops into something warm and sweet with lovely patchouli and musk. I can also smell rose, jasmine and mandarin. I don’t think you could get any more feminine and elegant than this perfume!

I’ve been looking for a new fragrance and I found Marc Jacobs’ Decadence to be a really good one as well. It is designed in the loveliest bottle ever with a nice tassel on it as if it were a miniature handbag, the idea I believe 🙂 … Thanks for update, I will check out your new fragrances as well.

The perfume must be really nice. Think I will will get one for my baby sister, who knows, she might like it. For me, I don’t use perfume, never have and never will.
