The summer weather has officially reached “sizzle status” and I’m doing everything I can to keep from melting while still looking chic.

I’m skipping pants and any fabrics that cause me to sweat any more than I already am (SIGH!!), and choosing flirty dresses and rompers to maximize my “Hot Girl Summer” look.

When I saw this adorable terracotta-coloured, polka dot tea dress on the Pretty Little Thing website, I immediately added it to my cart.

I’m a sucker for flirty, little summer dresses and this one is both sweet and a little sexy. The length makes your legs look a mile long, and the colour is so good! So far, I have worn this dress for drinks on a patio and out to fun events.

What I love most about this adorable dress is that it looks much more expensive than it actually is. The fabric is similar to linen and the flattering cut and wide belt makes your waist look tiny! I’ll be wearing this dress for years to come.

The Sweet-As-Pie Eyelet Romper

I love rompers, but I get it. Many of us have a love/hate relationship with this popular style as it can be hard to find one that properly fits the torso (many are way too short leading them to be uncomfortable).

Couple that with the fact that they are a little annoying to get in and out of (never, ever wear one on a plane – lesson learned), they can be a hard style to swallow.

My new favourite romper is this feminine eyelet number c/o Pretty Little Thing. The cotton is comfortable and lightweight, and the eyelet design and eye-catching buttons elevates this look.

The Only LBD You’ll Ever Need

This dress was the biggest score EVER especially at $32 CAD! It’s classy, sexy and fits like a glove. It’s perfect for my 9-5 job, where I pair it with a feminine cardigan.

For a sexy, nighttime look, I wear it by itself, and a killer pair of strappy heels. I love the thick fabric that holds you in, smoothing out any lumps and bumps, yet it’s stretchy and comfortable enough for the summer weather. I have gotten so much wear out of this dress already that it’s paid for itself!

A little tip – summer is full of formal events and weddings. This elegant LBD would be a perfect option for a formal summer wedding.
