What a night! The well-dressed and well-heeled (literally) were out in full force tonight as Nordstrom’s second Canadian location opened in Ottawa, Ontario at the Rideau Centre.
I desperately wanted to go to this event but didn’t have anyone to go with. My friends and sisters weren’t interested, so I resigned myself to visiting the store with the rest of the plebs (lol – just kidding) when it opened to the public on Friday.
Imagine my delight when my friend Katie asked me to go! Unfortunately, tickets were sold out, but my totally awesome, well-connected husband scored us tickets (I LOVE YOU, RYAN).
The store is gorgeous! Cocktails, delicious hors d’oeuvres, models, awesome DJs…you name it, they had it. Best of all, with the closure of my beloved Holt Renfrew, Ottawans now have somewhere to buy name-brand designer items. My faves were among the store’s inventory: Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, DVF, Ted Baker, Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Bauble Bar, Diptyque, Jo Malone and so on and so forth.
The store was so packed and we were totally suffering from sensory overload. Jimmy Choos to the right of us! Cake pops to the left of us! Beaver tails straight ahead and macarons flying in from the side…we didn’t know where to focus our eyes. The top floor has a great Etsy shop that I highly recommend though.
Amazingly, I was a good girl and didn’t spend much. I have my eye on an Alexander Wang Rocco bag in rose gold and I am 99.99% sure I will go back for that totally awesome Rag & Bone hat that I tried and wore for about an hour – lol! Since I’m currently obsessed with Downton Abbey, I picked up a gorgeous tortoise shell hair pin worthy of Lady Mary Crawley that I’m excited to rock out, along with some Guerlain lipsticks, and a Chantecaille special order of a bunch of eyeshadow not currently in stock. YAY!
Did any of you go?? Let me know how you enjoyed the soirée!!
