Mixing It Up With Mei L’ange: The Sexy One-Piece Bathing Suit

One of my vices is totally bikinis and bathing suits. Growing up, we were lucky enough to have an in-ground swimming pool, so my bathing suit obsession started early.

As a teen, I would scrimp and save and order bathing suits out of a popular catalogue and I tell ya, there was not much selection out there back then. It was especially hard due to my proportions which are on the side of skinny Dolly Parton-esque.

Mei L’ange contacted me for a collaboration and I happily accepted as this new line of contemporary bathing suits is GORGEOUS. Not only are the designs super pretty, the bathing suits and bikinis are of high-quality. The fabrics are thick, soft and luxurious. The designs are also nice and secure – they won’t up and swim away if a giant wave pummels you. On top of all of this, Mei L’ange’s one-piece bathing suits are constructed so well that everything stays exactly where they should – including the “girls” that like to make an appearance every now and then in rough seas. SIGH.

The Aria Maillot

I brought my Aria Tie-Back Halter Maillot with me on my last trip to Barbados and it was a hit. The dusty blue and white stripes looked great on the tropical beaches and the golden hardware is right up my alley. I had a little impromptu shoot on the balcony of my granparents’ home as the backdrop of palm trees was too pretty to pass up.

Mei L’ange’s designer, Eefje Sarah Dierickx, honed her craft at the ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem and then as a graduate student at the prestigious Central Saint Martins. She then worked at global heavyhitters such as Calvin Klein, Isabel Marant, Preen, alice + olivia and COS. I see a bit of these brands’ influences throughout her collection. And I’m totally ok with that because the minimalist yet sexy looks are beautiful.

That is a SUPER cute suit – and it looks like it stays in place pretty well? I love the way the lines create shape on your body (hopefully they would be equally flattering on mine! haha)

Thanks, Valerie! It’s a really secure suit. Feels very well-made. And yes! How the stripes are shown really gives nice lines! You should check out the site. There are a bunch of options!

This suit is gorgeous! I mean, you’d look phenomenal in a flour sack, but still. WOW.
