Bailey Nelson

Nestled in the heart of Westboro is a minimalistic little store featuring some of the coolest, best-looking eyewear I’ve ever seen. Rows and rows of stylish modern designs line the walls of this small, unassuming store…a veritable treasure trove of eyewear. Ladies and gentleman of Ottawa…welcome to Bailey Nelson.

Bailey Nelson

Founded in 2012, Bailey Nelson strives to provide super stylish frames at a fair price.  A FAIR PRICE! Hear that, Chanel and Dior? No $600 sunglasses here – thank God. Can I just ask…when did sunglasses start costing the same as airfare to Vancouver? Don’t let the fair prices fool you though, the quality of my own pair of Bailey Nelson’s rivals that of my Prada sunglasses. With their polarized lenses, high quality acetate (acetate = cotton-based resin, not plastic!) frames from Italy and hinges from Germany, Bailey Nelson only uses the best quality materials.  They manage to keep their costs down by designing their frames themselves and use local suppliers and components as much as possible.  Features such as anti-glare, anti-scratch and polarized lenses that make designer brand prices sky rocket are standard features on all of their eyewear.  That is a total score.

My visit to the store was one of the most memorable shopping experiences I’ve ever had.  I was greeted by David, Bailey Nelson’s Ontario Operations Manager, a very stylish and good-looking gent with one of those faces that is kind and approachable. He took the time to educate me on Bailey Nelson’s mandate and vision and best of all, seemed as excited as I was as I tried on 25+ frames. Thanks for your enthusiasm and patience, David!

My flatlay featuring my fave things, including my Bailey Nelson Mim Cherry Blossoms

I settled on an amazing pair of Mim sunnies in “Cherry Blossom” – a rosy tortoiseshell frame with slightly reflective lenses.  I am totally obsessed with them.  I’ll be heading back soon to pick up another pair of Mims in yellow tortoiseshell with blue arms – so cool.

So, go have a visit, take in the incredible frames and marvel at the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable service.  Be sure to check out their optical section too…some of the coolest and most unique eyeglasses I have ever seen. All frames are fully warrantied too for one year.

The Bailey Nelson store is located at 354B Richmond Road, Ottawa, ON. You can also check them out by visiting their website at www.baileynelson.ca. Bailey Nelson is also on Instagram (gorgeous feed, btw) and Facebook.

Girl, I love when you feature brands on your blog. You give some history and details of the brand beyond just showcasing them on you and I really really appreciate that.
These sunglasses are amazing! I loves Firmoo when you promoted them and now I’m gonna have to check these guys out, too!

Hey Dannie! This comment means so much! I really try to make the posts interesting…finding out why they’ve gone into business or a little about their history. Going on about why you like it is one thing, but truly understanding the brand is another!! Thanks so much! xoox
