If there is one Ottawa event I have always wanted to attend, it’s Angie’s Models & Talent International (AMTI) Annual Showcase.
I got my chance this year and attended this glittering fashion show on Saturday, May 6th. I’m still buzzing! Gorgeous models strutted their stuff in creative, stunning designs by Zarucci, Di Carlo Couture, Dynamite, Gap Kids and more.
AMTI owner, Angie Sakla-Seymour, has been holding this great event showcasing AMTI’s models and actors for years. Talent scouts from all over the world including New York, Paris and Tokyo attend this showcase in the hopes of signing the next big star. And Angie has been quite successful at “serving up talent”. Big names such as Ryan Gosling and Herieth Paul are among the talent that Angie has discovered. Don’t forget her beautiful daughter too. Helena-Alexis Seymour has appeared in the acclaimed film Birdman and most recently, xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Mental note: ask Helena what it’s like to share breathing space with Vin Diesel, a.k.a my boyfriend, Dominic Toretto.
In addition to the beautiful talent, this event is a huge draw! With great beats spun by DJ Ilon, cocktails and beautiful models strutting down the runway, attendees are treated to a true spectacle.
With her great sense of humour and easy, laid-back nature, Angie dazzled the crowd as emcee. AMTI started out as a small etiquette school in Cornwall, ON. Over the next two decades, Angie grew that school into a model and talent agency representing a huge contingent of top models and actors. A true family business, even her two children lend a helping hand and are also represented by the agency.
As mentioned, the night was stellar. It was great to rub elbows with fellow bloggers such as Katrina Turnbull of Oui C’est Chic and Capital Style Files, along with the Krowd Magazine fashion editors. I also met the gorgeous AMTI models (wow – they are TALL) and catch up with one of my favourite designers, Nora Pucci of Zarucci.
I left the event feeling inspired by the local design talent, creative fashion and beautiful people. Well done, Angie. Thank you for making Ottawa beautiful!

That first blue dress is so lovely, and I want that vintage style swimsuit. I’m really into vintage one pieces.
This looks like a fun event! I love runway shows!! I’m glad that you had a great time and got some fantastic photos!
