Try This Super Hero Cream To Beat Winter Dry Skin

Winter has come early and my poor skin is suffering because of it. I can see that I’m not alone either by the flood of DMs I’ve received from you all asking for some skincare help! Well, I’ve heard you loud and clear and this girl is sympathizing with all of you.

The temperature has dipped well below zero causing the indoor heating to kick in full force. In addition, with the cold weather comes extremely dry outdoor conditions causing a perfect “dry skin storm”. As you all know already, I’m a huge fan of Darphin’s rich and lovely creams that always effectively soothe skin in the winter months. This rock solid French brand has a host of great products and I have a few reviews you can read here and here.

Happiness = When your forehead stops cracking because you found Darphin

Darphin recently released the Rose Hydra-Nourishing Oil Cream which is pretty much your skincare superhero during the cold winter months. Admittedly, my own skin has been on an upswing! No breakouts and the dryness has been minimal, so I’m continuing this “lucky spell” by using this rich, rose-based cream nightly.

The Rose Hydra-Nourishing Oil Cream is suitable for use day and night, but I find the formulation quite rich, so I’ve been opting to use it as a reparative night cream. Its blend of rose essential oil, flower wax and rose water is completely soothing. I encourage you all to try it out both daily and nightly also as it provides skin with a lovely glow, so that you can tuck your luminizing powders and creams away.

Of note, I was attracted to this cream as rose-based skincare is know for reducing redness and calming skin. Rose also has astringent and antibacterial properties which is especially great for those with oily and acneic skin. Lastly, rose extracts are very high in Vitamins C & E which stimulate collagen for a more youthful look and provide boosted moisture…something you will need as you dig out from the mountains of snow (my thoughts are with those of us suffering through the unstoppable force which is the Canadian winter).

A Little Bonus – Petal Infusion Lip Oil (US $20)

If you have dry lips, you may want to pick up Darphin’s Petal Infusion Lip Oil. Be warned, it’s so beautiful, you may not want to use it!

This hydrating formula is made with real flower petals. The petals are suspended in the crystal clear gloss which makes me stare at it in wonder! My lips chap in an instant, so I’m always fully stocked with great lip balms and this one makes the cut. You will find this formulation soft and very glossy with the oils providing a soothing, moisturizing feeling. Made with Vitamin E, grapeseed and apricot oils, this gloss is very moisturizing, and its Omega 6 and 9 plumps your lippies.

This gloss is on the thicker side, so it lasts all day long. A small word of caution – while wearing this gloss…secure your hair on windy days so it doesn’t get stuck on your lips! That’s the trade-off. Long lasting glosses tend to be a little on the heavier side.

That being said, this product is paraben-free and vegan.

Where To Find Darphin

Good news for those of you who don’t have ready access to Darphin products! Darphin has just launched their Canadian website – www.darphin.ca – and if you sign up, you will receive 15% off your first order! The Rose Hydra-Nourishing Oil Cream and Petal Infusion Lip Oil are not on the Canadian site yet (sigh – I know), but my American friends can order online at www.darphin.com. My fellow Canucks will be able to find them both online, in-store at Shoppers Drug Mart beautyBOUTIQUES and Sephora Canada.

Hi Naomie! Yes! I highly recommend Hairworld in the Merivale Mall (where I go). Ask for Gloria…she’s incredible!! Take care and good luck! Don’t forget to deep condition on a regular basis!

I know you’re a huge Darphin fan, as am I! So I definitely will consider using this cream this winter since I suffer from dry skin all the time.
