With the myriad of daytime Holiday events and Christmas parties I’ve been attending over the last few weeks, I’ve been rocking some understated glam looks. As much as I love getting all dolled up, full regalia during the day can be exhausting (and not quite right for the dog-walker Christmas party – lol). Also, I received a couple of comments from you all on a recent video asking for me to offer up a few “simple makeup looks”.
Nude By Nature contacted me a few weeks ago to test out their new releases and when I saw the assortment of beautiful rose gold and berry tones, I knew these would be perfect for that “you but better” look that is eternally popular. Here is my rundown of my simple Holiday Glam look and a quick review of my fave Nude By Nature products.
Nude By Nature is a popular Aussie brand focusing on cruelty-free makeup formulated with non-toxic ingredients. The brand hammers home the fact that we are now “living in a world where everyone is striving for good – good food, good health, a good night’s sleep; our make-up should be good for us too. Nude by Nature is just that. It’s more than cosmetic, it’s good for you.”
This really resonated with me and their mineral makeup has proven to be great for my skin. After using it for the past few weeks, I have not had one breakout.
Alright – I have tried my share of primers and have a few that are favourites. Then this arrived. WHOA. I used it first thing one morning after a late night. Its fresh feel and luminous look jolted me awake. It made me look bright as opposed to
slightly hungover tired.
Those of you who try this out will see the full potential of this great primer when you apply your liquid foundations. The Perfecting Primer allows for smooth and even application and instantly erases the look of large pores. Fine lines are greatly diminished and it offers a slightly luminous look which reads as dewy and healthy.
A major bonus are the fine ingredients consisting of Australian Kakadu Plum (great anti-aging properties), Vitamins A & E (anti-oxidant powerhouses) and green tea (skin protector). This primer acts like a great moisturizer too. You will notice smoother, healthier skin with prolonged use.
For the past couple of months, I have been trying to pare down my makeup routine. This is born out of the fact that I am ALWAYS running late. I was sick of mixing two foundations together to achieve the perfect colour too. It was time-consuming and annoying.
In comes the Nude By Nature Radiant Loose Powder Foundation in Chocolate. It’s the perfect colour for my skin tone, and provides an insane amount of coverage. I am so impressed!
Now, don’t think this applies like a thick mask. This powder foundation is buildable, and perfect for those of you who prefer a more natural look. If you prefer more coverage, simply apply a little more.
This powder contains kaolin clay which is highly effective at absorbing excess oil. Also, the powder is formulated with jojoba esters which pretty much erase the look of large pores. Used in conjunction with the Perfecting Primer, you will be left with the most even complexion out there.
Application tip: tap a small amount into the lid, dip your brush into the product, tap away the excess, and buff into your face gently with a circular motion and voilà! Best skin ever!
I love everything about this highlighter. The stick shape allows for direct application to your skin so that you can pinpoint exactly where you want your highlighty goodness. The Bronze colour is pretty much “beach skin in a stick” too giving a toasty, healthy glow to all skintones. I particularly love dabbing the stick on the Cupid’s bow of my lips for a little added ooomph.
The Touch Of Glow Highlight Stick contains Quandong, a natural brightener and anti-oxidant. Those of you who love highlighters will appreciate this cream-to-powder formula which makes application natural-looking and easy.
This award-winning brush offers you a perfect and flawless application each time you use it and at $24, it acts like a brush that costs three times that.
With its super soft synthetic bristles, it evenly distributes your makeup. No streaks, no uneven application – it’s perfect. I have been using this luxe brush to apply the Radiant Look Powder Foundation to great results!
Best of all, it doesn’t leave its bristles all over your face. I hate that. When this brush proved its worth in gold, I threw out my other, way-more-expensive face brush as it just didn’t perform nearly as well as the Flawless Brush.
The Perfecting Concealers are great for those of you looking to erase dark circles and achieve a perfect, puffiness-free undereye look.
This concealer gem contains all the heavy-hitting skin lovers like Vitamin E, jojoba oil, shea butter, flora esters and kakadu plum – an anti-aging superhero. I call this “8 Hours Sleep In A Tube”. For a really natural look, apply the concealer to your undereye area with your fingertips. The warmth of your fingers heats up the product slightly offering an easier, more natural application.
Dusky Nude Moisture Shine Lipstick was pretty much made for us who love that natural, nude look with just a hint of flattering pink. It’s so perfect and easy to put on that you don’t need a mirror. It’s in my pocket at ALL TIMES!
I’m encouraging everyone suffering with chapped lips but still love a little colour to try out Nude By Nature’s Moisture Shine Lipsticks. They are loaded with hydrating ingredients to soothe your lippies. With their silky application and glossy, creamy shine, they are a lifesaver this time of year.
A perfect accompaniment to the Moisture Shine Lipstick, the Defining Lip Pencil is for those who want more depth of colour and staying power. While the Moisture Shine Lipstick lasts quite long, lip pencils offer another layer of colour and their formulation will allow you to wear the colour all day long.
The Meadowfoam Seed Oil in the lip pencil allows it to glide onto lips easily therefore giving you a really precise application to define and outline lips. Use alone for a matte look or underneath any lipstick. I like to apply the pencil to my lips then top off with a clear gloss for a polished look.
This glossy, hydrating balm couldn’t have arrived at a better time. I received the colour “Berry” – a lush, reddish-pink that is perfect for this time of year. We are all working hard to ward off chapped lips during the cold weather and this balm really helps!
Not only does this balm offer up a pretty wash of colour, it keeps lips moist and hydrated for hours. Containing sweet almond oil, Australian Kakadu Plum (a great antioxidant), mango seed butter and Vitamin E, the Sheer Glow Colour Balm is smooth and easy to apply and offers up a great, plump pout.
This has been a favourite collaboration of mine as this makeup really fits my busy lifestyle. If you do decide to try out Nude By Nature, you will see that all of the products are great, easy to apply with a range of colours that are truly flattering on everyone.
The makeup look that I’m wearing in this post is all Nude By Nature, and a current favourite. I’m personally really thrilled at achieving polished “Christmas Glam” using minimal products!
