I love myself a good makeup brush. It’s one of the beauty accessories that I really take seriously. So much so, that with my largest commission pay cheque that I received during my retail days, I splurged on a set of high-end brushes that I still use to this day.
Artis is a brand that I’ve been following ever since one of my fave YouTubers, Lydia Elise Millen, featured a few on her blog. They looked so soft and divine! I made a mental note to order a few, but sigh…that mental note got lost in my huge box of mental notes.
The Universe backed me up though and one fine day, a gleaming Artis brush was delivered straight to my hot, little hands. I dropped everything and immediately tried it out. After all, perfect foundation application awaited!
I quickly read over the deets on the brush and learned that the Oval 7 Brush from the Elite Mirror Collection that I received is Seriously multi-purpose. It’s specifically designed to be used with liquid, cream or powder products such as foundation, concealer, highlighter, blush, bronzer, loose and pressed powder and skincare products. “AWESOME”, I thought, especially since I’ve taken to applying some shimmering bronzer to my décolleté for no reason at all except for me being a little too extra for my own good.
Why I Love The Oval 7 Brush
This brush is roughly the size of the apple of my cheek, which makes it easy to apply and blend blush in a snap. It’s also a dream to apply foundation, as it doesn’t suck up all of your product, yet makes you look completely airbrushed. It’s truly a dream to use.
On top of all of this, it’s completely ergonomic. I thought the shape of the brush and handle itself may be a bit much, but it was really easy to get used to and I was soon blending up a storm.
A Little About Artis
Artis was created by artist and photographer Matthew Waitesmith. Training makeup artists for over 30 years, he recognized that beauty tools were based on art brushes – like a painter applies paint to a canvas.
Known for its products that are both functional and beautiful, Artis brushes offer a functionally superior experience offering flawless results.
I’m so hooked on my Oval 7 Brush that I’m contemplating ordering the Palm Brush as it is twice as big as my Oval 7 and I’m thinking it would be perfect for applying creams, bronzer and shimmer to larger areas of the body like shoulders, back and legs. Giddy up!
Have you tried any Artis brushes? What did you think?
*A big that you to Artis for providing this press sample in exchange for my honest opinion.
