Summer is fast approaching (despite this dastardly weather) and I am in full “sunny weather prep mode”. I’ve brought out my summer clothes from storage, tuned up my bike and I’m ramping up the outdoor workouts.
With 2019 flying by, I promised myself to plan out the year a little better to maximize awesomeness. Here are five little things that I am determined to do this year NO MATTER FREAKING WHAT.
Girls Trip
My girlfriends and I haven’t taken girl trip together since we went to Costa Rica about seven years ago. That trip was EPIC. Costa Rica is one of the loveliest destinations I have ever traveled to with a wealth of fun things to do, gorgeous scenrey, friendly locals and delicious food.
Not only did we take in all the fun stuff, we all got closer, creating memories that will last a lifetime. I look back at those pics and I’m desperate to do that again. I’m thinking a girls trip to Cabo, South Beach, Las Vegas…or even hopping across the pond to Europe is soooo in order this year.
Get My Engagement Ring Fixed
About a year ago, I smashed my treasured engagement ring and the setting holding the diamond was rendered really weak (this is actually due to me smashing the ring repeatedly). The diamond setting is really high, therefore it was prone to snagging on sweaters, etc. It was time to get her fixed.
A couple of weeks ago, I took my ring to HOWARDS Fine Jewellers for the repair. Sadly, it was too far gone. They gave me some options to restore the ring to its former glory. A kind sales associate and I sat and redesigned the ring…nothing too crazy, but gorgeous and a bit more blingy. I’m super excited to see the finished product and show all of you!
Celebrate Our 15th Wedding Anniversary
I cannot believe that Ryan and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in six short weeks. It feels like just yesterday a couple of goofy kids who are best friends walked down the aisle. We have booked a fun long-weekend getaway to celebrate and I’m counting down the days!
Have A “Dominique Day”
My days are so busy that I don’t get the chance to take care of myself. I usually end up exhausted and/or sick and definitely burned out.
I am actively planning an “All Dom” self-care day. I’m going to drag my butt to the beautiful Le Spa Nordik, sit in the saunas and steam rooms, and spend the bulk of the day lounging in their famously relaxing warm pools. No emails, no text messages, no checking Instagram for the 73rd time in an hour. The only thing I’ll be concentrating on is how the great the day will feel.
Take A Roadtrip to Prince Edward County
Prince Edward County here in Ontario is known for its beautiful beaches and fine wine. Driving through the county is supposed to be beautiful just in itself.
Known worldwide as a top culinary and wine destination, its high time I visit. I’m thinking a long weekend getaway, spending a day sampling wines at one of the regions wineries followed by soaking up the sun at gorgeous Sandbanks Beach. Oh God – I’m excited!
So – that’s round up my list of things I must do this summer. *adds this list to Goals List*
