An Epic Fashion Show: Stepping Out In Style – Tamir Foundation

A huge part of my success has been the overwhelming community support I have received here in Ottawa. For that, I am immensely grateful.

Style Domination wouldn’t be the “little blog that could” without all of my Ottawa-based readers. So, this year, a huge focus of mine is giving back to the community that uplifts me. Therefore, I am very proud to be a part of the committee organizing the upcoming first annual Stepping Out In Style Fashion Show hosted by the Tamir Foundation.

Fun at the Models International Management Training Session!

The Stepping Out In Style Fashion Show is an inclusive one, focusing on diversely-abled models strutting their stuff on the runway. The Tamir Foundation is dedicated to giving people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to reach their potential in a supportive Jewish environment.  Tamir will be partnering up with some amazing retailers to show that all people deserve the chance to fulfill their dreams. In addition, all funds raised by this charitable fashion show will be used to personalize Tamir individuals’ rooms, repaint houses and replace furniture. I am so, so proud to be a part of this!

Werkin’ that catwalk!

The models will be donning both adaptive wear and retail outfits on the red carpet and catwalk. Brands that we have partnered up with include We Are Kings, The Hudson’s Bay Company, Rent Frock Repeat, and more.

A couple of weeks ago, our team went to Models International Management to give a training session for the models walking in the fashion show. Everyone strutted their stuff on the runway and absolutely killed it! Frankly, most of the models needed no training at all. They all unleashed their inner supermodels! To see the excitement on the models faces, and hear about how excited they are for this event quite literally made my heart burst with excitement!!

Taryn Miller, Makeup Artist

The inimitable Stefan Keyes from CTV Ottawa will be hosting our glittering event. Taryn Miller, a talented makeup artist that I’ve worked with many times before will be providing makeup artistry for the show, and Hairfellas Barbershop and Pierino Scarfo Salons will be on hair duty. DJ Paq from Hot 89.9 will be spinning hot beats all night too!

Our beautiful evening will start off with a VIP cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres provided by Creative Kosher Catering. The fashion show will follow, finished off by tasty desserts.

If you are in the Ottawa area, we would love it if you attended the Stepping Out In Style Fashion Show!

The details on the fashion show are as follows:

Date: Monday, November 20th 2017

This sounds so amazing!!! I would love to see this fashion show~ They are so blessed to have you on the committee. In graduate school I taught aqua aerobics to diversely-disabled young women and I have the best memories!

Aww Jennifer, sad you can’t make it but I’m thinking that’s a pretty good excuse. I am so thrilled to support this. Such a great cause! See you next year!
