Perfume makes me swoon, especially sexy, moody ones. Givenchy L’Interdit Eau de Parfum serves up some major sexy moodiness with its luxe notes of patchouli and vetiver, topped off with white florals.
This perfume is a lovely update of the original scent from 1957, which was dedicated to the quintessentially stylish Audrey Hepburn…and that is exactly how this perfume makes you feel – elegant and classy like its muse. An interesting tidbit: Hubert de Givenchy created this scent personally for Audrey Hepburn. When he informed her that he intended to sell it to the public, Ms. Hepburn forbade him and declared “Je vous l’interdit!!”. I guess that exclamation stuck and the name was born!
Givenchy L’Interdit (CAD $131) is described as a white floral with a dark woody accord. Its top notes are bergamot, pear and sour cherry, followed by middle notes of jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom. The base notes of patchouli, vetiver, ambroxan, caramel and vanilla give it a sweet earthiness that is very sensual. Just ask the gentleman behind me at a favourite café who ended up paying for my London Fog after complimenting this perfume. *Blushes*
Its beautiful packaging makes it a standout too on your vanity. The bottle is solid and thick, topped off by a black ribbon encircling the neck. Givenchy did a wonderful job updating this perfume right down to modernizing the bottle’s original lines.
Givenchy L’Interdit will be making the cut for my suggestions of best holiday presents this year. It makes you feel sexy and stylish and the perfume itself is unique…a perfect one for those looking to define their signature scent. Speaking of which, if you are wondering how to pick that special scent for yourself, you should check out my tips here.

Thank you for another perfume post. Your fragrance updates are my fav. I am looking for a new fragrance I can fall in love with over the winter and this came just in time, I’ll be looking for it this weekend. Meanwhile I am on Versace Dylan Blue which I purchased for the summer it’s to die for.
