I’m a serious lipstick lover. It’s my favourite beauty product of all time. When I picked up my purse this morning to head to work, it weighed a ton. When I dumped it out, 26 lipsticks rolled out. Ryan rolled his eyes as Reese grabbed one and tried to play Keep Away. Sigh…. I don’t care though. I love each and every one, including Givenchy’s Le Rouge Liquide, my newest additions.
Why do I love Givenchy’s LeRouge Liquide?
The latest three products I received from one of my favourite luxury beauty brands, Givenchy Beauty, are standouts. Le Rouge Liquide is interesting. These leather-clad lipsticks are more like matte lip creams. You must twist the bottom of the lipstick to release the product into the applicator (twist carefully or you’ll end up with more than you need).
The lipstick offers up a soft, matte, blurring effect and some of the deep berry colours make you look like you just finished eating a bowl of cherries. I say this because the velvet-like applicator does not offer up a sharp and precise application. I like this though. The look it offers is subtle and more natural. Those who prefer a more precise look may want to apply this cream-like lipstick with a lip brush.
Unlike most matte lipsticks, I found this formula very hydrating thanks to it containing hyaluronic acid (offers up a lip plumping effect). My favourite colour of the trio is #306 – Orange Plumetis. It’s a traffic stopping orange red that I paired with a nautical stripe outfit. That beautiful colour made that outfit! Back to the point though, my lips never felt dry while wearing it. This formula contains Gatuline Oil which smooths and softens lips. To top it off, the colour pay-off was stellar. It complimented my dark skin tone beautifully and made me look like I was glowing. Seriously obsessed.
The Best Transitional Colour For Fall – #412 Grenat Alpaga
Another colour I reach for often is the deep, sexy berry colour, #412 Grenat Alpaga. This lovely, matte berry/plum colour is a bit of a welcome treat from all of the nudes I normally favour. It’s sexy and of-the-moment, accentuates but doesn’t hide the beauty of your natural lips. Again, thanks to the velvet applicator, it offers up a soft, blurred effect that looks perfectly undone on lips, as opposed to sharp and severe.
The Most Perfect Nude – # 101 Nude Cachemire
#101 Nude Cachemire is one of those perfect nude lipsticks that looks great on anyone. It’s subtle pale brown with a hint of pink looked great on my dark skin tone. I lined my lips with a chestnut coloured lipliner which enhanced this subtle look. #101 Nude Cachemire is one I reach for frequently as it looks great with everything…and offers up just enough colour to enhance your natural lips. Looks particularly great with a brown smoky eye.
I *highly* recommend these lipsticks…frankly, anything from Givenchy. Speaking of which, I’m going to go check out their lovely line of handbags to tote around all of their makeup.
Have you tried Givenchy Beauty yet? What are your favourite products?

It truly amazes me how much we have in common lol! I love love love lipsticks, it’s my fav make up product of all time. I had 6 (SIX) in my hand at the drugstore an thought, why why why. But, don’t sleep girl on Maybeline’s new Matte colors. OMG, they are so smooth and rich and very pigmented. The colors are stunning. And I love me some Givenchy. My sister first introduced me to G, years ago through an eye shadow pallet. Awesome!

Really? I have to check out the MAybelline. Thanks for the heads up! Maybelline has been killing it lately. We really should meet for a cocktail shouldn’t we? And as for Givenchy, this brand is sooo darn luxe! All of the cases are made of leather. LEATHER! Thanks for reading, Cheryl! xoxox
I know! Leather! Givenchy to me is THE top luxury brand because they don’t miss on the packaging. The first pallet my sister bought for me was so stunning in a luxurious gold plated case and that was back in the 80’s. Maybeline have been killing it lately haven’t they?
I was in NYC a couple weeks ago with my son on a mini vacation and college visit- we had a blast. Please let me know when you are in Chicago or nearby. Maybe I can make a trip to your town for a weekend vacation and catch up!
Omg, that velvet-like applicator though! So cool looking.
