Style Domination Goes to Rome

My first trip to Italy in 2013 changed my life.  This trip made me realize that there is more to life than work, the rat race, working out and consuming.  The Italians really know how to relax and enjoy the finer things in life such as quality food, beautiful wines and art and architecture.  A trip to Italy has always been #1 on my bucket list.  I’ll never forget how my husband broke the news that we would be heading to Italy for our ninth wedding anniversary.  He took me to one of our favourite Italian restaurants and before we started on a couple glasses of fine red wine, he presented me with a small present.  When I opened it, it was a tour guide of Rome.  I cried.  He’s the best – a true romantic…and great at surprises!

Now, I like writing my little travel guides offering suggestions for restaurants, sightseeing and shopping, but I think I will dedicate this post to simply sharing my favourite moments of our first trip to Italy.

I hope you enjoy and if you haven’t been to this beautiful country yet, I highly suggest you book your plane ticket NOW.

Unfortunately I’ve never been “lower” than Rome but I’ve heard pretty amazing things about south Italy 🙂

Well, I highly recommend it. Be sure to go to Sorrento too!! Both Positano and Sorrento are worth a visit for the linen and shoe shops alone! LOL!

Lovely photos. I haven’t traveled outside the U.S. But hope to soon. My first stop will most definitely be Paris. Italy is beautiful. My best friend is Italian and has family there . She’s visited quite a few times.

Well, I loved Paris! I went last September. The food, wine, shopping and sites were absolutely fantastic. When you get to Italy, don’t forget to check out the Amalfi Coast (Capri, Sorrento, Positano, etc)!

That’s awesome. I look forward to hopefully visiting both. Thanks for the tips.

I LOVE Italy so much! My hubby and I took a trip there a few years ago and love to reminisce about it. We went to Venice, Rome, Vatican City, Florence, Sorrento, Capri, and Positano. The Amalfi coast is just so gorgoeus! What I loved most about Italy was that every city felt so different from each other. I had one of my top 3 dinners (in life!) at a little restaurant in Sorrento. I loved looking at your pics. So gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your trip!

Awwww! Thank you, Lourdes! Italy stole my heart. I went back again last year! LOL! The Amalfi Coast was so stunningly beautiful. I had some of the best seafood in my life in Sorrento too! We visited a lemon grove in the middle of the city and smuggled back to Canada four large bottles of limoncello from the grove! LOL! While I liked CApri, I felt it didn’t compare to the beauty of Positano. Is there anything better than enjoying a bottle of ice cold Nastro Azzuro on a picturesque Positano beach? I think not. LOL! I have another post lined up detailing our trip to Amalfi Coast so stay tuned!

      • March 26, 2015 / 12:47 pm

Awesome! I know—the limoncello there is amazing! I agree—-I much preferred Positano to Capri. Looking forward to more recaps! I want to go back soon and visit the northern parts also (not that I mind going back south. In fact, I’d really also like to make it to Siciliy, too).
