Ohhhkaayyyy…I’m going to be frank here. My husband and I rarely celebrate Valentine’s Day. It usually passes by like any other day which is sad and totally unromantic! This year is going to be different though, mainly due to a pair of shoes I found courtesy of RetailMeNot.ca.
There they were – beckoning to me from the www.aldoshoes.com website. A pair of black patent stilettos with a shiny red heart built into the heel. Have you ever suffered from love at first sight? Well, I just did. My heart skipped a beat when I saw them and knew right then and there that they were MINE.
I found them courtesy of a deal I found on RetailMeNot.ca: up to 70% off + 30% off select boots. With full intentions of picking up a pair of sensible black boots for work, I stumbled upon the perfect pair of Valentine’s Day shoes out there.
I immediately purchased the little heart heels, hyperventilated a bit, and then started daydreaming about all the cool things I would do wearing them. Then it occurred to me. I should wear them on Valentine’s Day. Better yet, Ryan and I should go out to dinner so I can wear them on Valentine’s Day!!
And there you have it. After about eight years of no Valentine’s Day celebrations, we were suddenly booked for a romantic dinner for two at one of our favourite restaurants followed by some live music. We have both been excitedly looking forward to our mid-week, romantic outing. We also apologized to each other for not taking full advantage of the most romantic day of the year each and every year.

I REALLY love those heels! It works with the simplicity of your outfit. You guys are like us, we do not celebrate it either. We have regular dates so this one day doesn’t make a difference.
