After a pretty long week, it was really nice to grab my sister and spend the weekend at the Ottawa National Women’s Show. I handed over puppy duty to Ryan, kissed them both on the head and raced out of the house.
I picked up Alice (my sisterly unit) at her place and was thrilled to see that she was just as excited. Alice had been equally in need of a little fun, so she was the perfect partner for the day.
We arrived, we got drink tickets and we hit the show floor. It was AWESOME. We ran into a zillion friends, got our nails done and picked up bag after bag of goodies. Hand massages, tarot card reading, makeup application, hair styling…you name it, we did it. With over 250 exhibitors present, we took our time working through booth after booth of beauty and wellness, cooking demonstrations, fashion and more.

We also stuffed ourselves with the tons of food up for grabs at the show. The kind people from Pete’s Gluten Free Chocolate Cakes were kind enough to gift Alice and I with a chocolate cake to sample. That chocolate cake was the BEST chocolate cake I had ever had.
After inhaling the cake, we then sat front row for the Magic Male Revue. I’m still deaf from the bloody screams from the crowds of excited women!
The kind people at Lancôme gave us mini makeup applications and previewed all of their new perfume releases for the year. We then discovered an amazing Canadian-bred beauty company called Soapstones Natural Skincare. After that, we caught a few fashion shows and then met up with friends to sample everything on offer in the “Wine Zone”, what we affectionately called the section offering up tasty cocktails, beer, wine and food.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Ottawa National Women’s Show (just like I knew we would) and cannot wait until next year.
Did you guys check it out? Tell me about it in the comments!
