Lincoln MKZ 2017: #QuietLuxury #StunningBeauty

Ok. I admit it. I love the finer things in life. I gravitate towards anything fancy, luxurious and expensive. I can’t help it! I’m the type of girl who has a collection of fine china that rivals the William Ashley showroom, I truly think diamonds are a girl’s best friend, I wear pearls to the grocery store and Saks Fifth Avenue is my Mecca.

When it comes to cars, it’s no different. I’m a “gorgeous, luxury sedan” type of gal, so the Lincoln MKZ 2017 makes my heart flutter. Sleek, supremely comfortable, fast and gorgeous, the Lincoln MKZ and I became fast friends during our week together. We cruised around town, I loaded it with shopping bags after a trip to Rideau Centre, and happily drove it to Toronto while enjoying one of the best massages ever. Yes – it has massage seats…and a heated steering wheel…and enough trunk space for the 18 pairs of shoes I *needed* for my trip.

I loved the Lincoln MKZ in particular because it had some other seriously sweet features. Aside from feeling like you were driving a soundproof cloud (even around Ottawa a.k.a The City of Perpetual Construction), it has a great feature called “Approach Detection”. While you approach the car with either your keys in hand or tucked away in your Gucci Dionysus purse, a Lincoln logo light shines on the ground, like a Batman spotlight illuminating the pavement. Amazing. My husband stared in disbelief at this while exclaiming “AWESOME!!!” and then raced me to the driver’s seat. The doors magically unlock and soft lighting welcomes you as you slide into her leather seats.

Speaking of its seats, they were cream and black leather. The interior of this car was just gorgeous. In fact, I had never driven a more luxurious car in my life. It sparkled and looked modern, bright and fresh inside. Both the driver and passenger seats have Active Motion®, where you could use the car’s touch screen to adjust the seats to whatever specification you desire. More lumbar support? Sure! Want a comfy massage focusing on your shoulder blades while waiting in rush hour traffic? Giddy up! Not only are the seats heated, they have a cooling system too, so you can kiss burnt buns behind during those hot July days.

The car also has great safety features. While literally cruising to Toronto, the adaptive cruise control system’s radar scans the highway to detect slower traffic around you. The Lincoln MKZ brakes for you and accelerates to keep you at your desired speed at all times. It also cruises with the pace of traffic when cars in front of you are driving at a slower speed. Me, being a tad of a Nervous Nellie on the 401, absolutely loved this feature. I felt safe and confident, even around scary 32-wheelers zipping by me.

Another thing I noticed while driving the MKZ is that it keeps you in your lane! No lane drifting in this car. A camera mounted behind the windshield monitors lane markings and detects any lane departures. If you start to drift, the steering wheel starts to vibrate gently, the Lane-Keeping Alert give you a warning  and actively applies steering torque to help direct your vehicle back to a safe position. I mean…it’s pretty much driving for you. It’s one step away from having a really good-looking chauffeur!

Other things I loved? Its overhauled control panel is totally user-friendly, so no crashing your car while trying to find your favourite playlist, and possibly my favourite feature on the control panel? The push button shift. The transmission controls are on the centre instrument panel! With one push of a button, you are reversing or driving or shifting into “S” for Sport Mode…and boom! You’re paddle shifting away! Of note, the Lincoln MKZ has a huge panoramic glass roof (#goals), enhanced park assist for the parallel parking-challenged, adaptive LED headlamps that turn with the steering wheel (amazing) which provides a better night driving experience, the absolutely fantastic sound system (this car already turns heads…try blasting a little Snoop Dogg while rolling through Rockliffe Park) and the most helpful feature for me? The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert. Passing cars on the highway safely was a breeze with this adept safety feature.

Now, I’m no auto journalist, but I know what I like and I truly loved this driving experience. I love comfort and luxury (and testing out the speed limits every now and then), and this car delivered.

I’m saving my cash because I’d absolutely love to own of these one day. Style Domination and the Lincoln MKZ 2017 were made for each other.
