#ConesBeforePhones – IgersOttawa Unite!

Over the summer, I got together with my favourite group of Instagrammers, @IgersOttawa, for an ice cream themed photoshoot outing at Ottawa’s Experimental Farm.

Mink Williams, the group’s organizer, was kind enough to round us all up and supply us with delicious Stella Luna Gelato for the day.  Needless to say, I was thrilled. Who wouldn’t be happy with a tummy full of raspberry cheesecake ice cream?

As noted, our meet-up took place at the Experimental Farm – one of the most beautiful locations for photography in Ottawa. With its lush ornamental gardens, manicured lawns, heritage buildings and farm animals, we were surrounded with a huge bounty of photographic inspiration.

Here are my pics from the day!

Michael was kind enough to give me a sample of his completely delicious Michael’s Piccante Sriracha Sauce.  An all-vegan product, this sauce packs quite the punch!  I use this on everything from toasted english muffins topped with avocado and scrambled eggs, spicing up boring chicken breasts, and I even found a nice recipe for spicy citrus cocktails!!  You MUST Try this!!  Be sure to check out Michael’s Dolce and his wonderful offerings such as elderberry soda and fig and blood orange jam. You can find Michael on the weekends at the Ottawa Farmer’s Market at Lansdowne Park, and his products are found at Quelques Chose Patisserie and Isobel’s Cupcakes & Cookies.

Ok – that ice cream was soooo delicious! Totally gourmet. And these instameets are such a great way to learn about photography. All of the attendees are seasoned photographers and I feel I learn so much. So great!
