73 Questions With Style Domination

On a night where I was particularly bored (Reese was tucked away in bed and Ryan was on serious triathlon training mode), I decided to go down the rabbit hole otherwise known as Vogue’s YouTube channel.

Vogue does a brilliant feature on their YouTube where they follow celebrities around and ask them to answer 73 questions. Some of my favourite videos feature Derek Zoolander, Lupita N’yongo, Victoria Beckham and Emily Ratajkowski.

I’m no celebrity, but I thought this would be fun to do myself so… here goes:

1. On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you about life right now? 14
2. Describe yourself in a hashtag? #nerdlinger
3. If you could do a love scene with anyone, who would it be? I’m married so….Idris Elba. LOL!
4. If your life was a musical, what would the marquee say? “I Hate Musicals”
5. What’s one thing people don’t know about you? My sister and I watch K-dramas on Netflix in awe.
6. What’s your wakeup ritual? Check phone, cuddle puppy, cuddle husband (yes, he’s second in line), brush teeth, shower, make coffee, eat
7. What’s your go-to-bed ritual? Check phone (lol), answer messages, wake puppy for cuddles (I’m a jerk), get cozy, fall asleep immediately
8. What’s your favorite time of day? Nighttime
9. Your go-to for having a good laugh? Hanging out with my friends. They be funny.
10. Dream country to visit? Thailand
11. What’s the biggest surprise you’ve had? My last birthday party.
12. Heels or flats/sneakers? Flats – designer ones.

16. What are three things you can’t live without? My iPhone, my puppy, my husband

18. What 3 people living or dead would you like to make dinner for? My grandmother, Jimi Hendrix, Anthony Bourdain (I’m ambitious)

22. Secret talent? I can pretty much resuscitate any dying plant
23. Most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life? Hiking Machu Picchu
24. How would you define yourself in three words? Funny, stylish, warm
25. Favorite piece of clothing you own? Right now, a black sweater from Aritzia that is cropped with billowy sleeves (Thais Cardigan)
26. Must have clothing item everyone should have? A great pair of shoes. They elevate everything.
27. Superpower you would want? Invisibility
28. What’s inspiring you in life right now? A few people I’ve met recently who are killing it.
29. Best piece of advice you’ve received? Not the best piece of advice but definitely the most memorable: “Never be on time for anything.” That was from my crazy Mum. I think she meant: “Always be fashionably late.”
30. Best advice you’d give your teenage self? “You will have boobs one day. Promise.”

32. What would you like to be remembered for? For being kind…and funny.
33. How do you define beauty? A warm, inviting smile and kind personality, followed by full lips, big, bright eyes, beautiful, glowing skin, and great hair… 
34. What do you love most about your body? The fact that it works well and I’m going to keep it that way
35. Best way to take a rest/decompress? A long run followed by a long massage
36. Favorite place to view art? The National Art Gallery of Canada, followed by the Galleria Borghese in Rome. Incredible.

43. Best gift you’ve ever given? We gave our sister Erika some treats when she moved to England. She cried. I’m crying.

58. A skill you’re working on mastering? Getting my foot unstuck from my mouth
59. Best thing to happen to you today? I got a pretty sweet loaner from Acura.
60. Worst thing to happen to you today? It rained and I wore my blush pink suede Pedro Garcia shoes. Sigh.
61. Best compliment you’ve ever received? “You’re incredibly loyal, you know that?” Yes.
62. Favorite smell? A three-way tie: a good men’s cologne (so sexy), freshly baked bread, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies

64. If you made a documentary, what would it be about? How I bumbled through life successfully
65. Last piece of content you consumed that made you cry? Ryan made me watch John Wick. The puppy scene. Come on. #unnecessary

71. If you could switch lives with someone for a day who would it be? Oprah – mainly so I can yell stuff in that Oprah voice. Oh yeah…and being a billionaire would be “interesting”.
72. What are you most excited about at this time in your life? A few things! Seeing Reese grow, heading into 15 years of marriage, my blog, SUMMER….
