One of my favourite past times is getting lost in the rabbit hole we know as Instagram. It is loaded with inspiration with millions of Instagrammers showcasing their artistic eye behind the lens.
I’m a lover of fashion and I’m very drawn to beautiful, clear and colourful photography, so when I stumbled on the following accounts, it was easy to follow along and get very obsessed.
I am not one to gravitate towards the standard fashion IGers. You know the type: “Look at me pout while I carry a $10,000 bag” types of shots. I also don’t care for the overly washed out palettes that are so prevalent on Instagram too (unless the fashion is really, really good). There is something to be said for happy smiling faces, colourful shots, and showcasing beautiful, wearable clothing. If I can relate to you and you make me smile, chances are, I’ll follow you. If you post a lot of pics of tasty food and cute pets, I’ll probably follow you too!
Well, without further ado, here is a round-up of IGers that I check in on every day like it’s my full-time job!
Ashley Hutchinson of @Mushroom Stew
Ashley’s blog, www.SedBona.com, is a veritable treasure trove of “endless inspiration” as noted by her website’s tagline. Her Instagram, @mushroomstew, is no different. Bursting with colour, beautiful ootds, and mouth-watering food shots – it’s a literal delight for the senses. Doesn’t hurt either that she is a gifted professional photographer, along with being the human of the most adorable little pug. What an eye this girl has – and her 46,300+ followers agree.
Nelly of @Muses Uniform
This beautiful Parisian has been inspiring me for months now, ever since I stumbled upon her account while stalking another gorgeous IGer, @asiyamigold. Nelly’s sense of style is a mix of both Parisian “effortless chic” and African fashion influence. She styles her clothing in new, fresh ways which she displays beautifully on her instagram, @musesuniform. She pairs pieces like billowing velvet palazzo pants with oversized men’s blazers and throws on her Comme des Garçons Converse to add a little “je ne sais quoi” to her outfits. I’m obsessed.
Sabrina Stavenjord of @My.Miaou
Sabrina’s lifestyle-focused Instagram, @my.miaou, will leave you with a serious hankering for yummy sweets and delicious cocktails. My sweet tooth sings each time I stalk her account. Sabrina is a master of food photography, capturing beautiful desserts, delicious dinners and mouth-watering pastries in her expert flatlays. The dreamy consistency of her IG too leaves me wanting more. This girl also has the best ombré hair and an enviable wardrobe. Sabrina – can we please hang out so that I can borrow your bags?? LOL! Britni Sumida of @britni.nicolee
I live vicariously through this “bad girl’s” IG, @britni.nicolee. Britni Sumida is stop-traffic gorgeous and her style is amazing. It was her influence that made me get bangs. Britni is a Japanese-American model that is just killing it on Instagram. Residing in LA, she has access to countless locations to capture some of the coolest fashion shots I’ve ever seen. This nerd right here hopes to be half as cool as Britni one day.
Rosie Clayton of @rclayton
When I stumbled upon Rosie’s incredibly popular Instagram (111,000 followers!), I was stunned. I have never, EVER seen a bigger and more beautiful collection of fabulous walls! This Chicagoan captures a lot of her rainbow-y ootds in LA which is apparently Home Of Amazingly Instagrammable Walls. Like me, Rosie is a lover of colour. I cannot get enough of her collection of stunningly beautiful shots and enviable collection of clothing. Girl – can I please, please, please play in your closet? AMAZING.

All wonderful accounts. I love when I see smiling faces and wearable fashion too (although, I do admit, I like muted accounts just as much — or more — than colorful ones).
