Why Even A Little Exercise Makes A Huge Difference

Towards the end of the summer, I started to feel burned out – again. Too much stress from my day job, blogging, travelling and just my crazy life in general started to wear on me.

On top of that, I started to feel anxious – something that I don’t really suffer from. My sleep was affected (sleepless nights are the worst), which led to me being too tired to do anything.

Sick of that feeling, I decided to take Reese for a long walk. I couldn’t find my fave “dog walking shoes”, so I strapped on my sneaks and Reese and I hit the trails. Our slow walk, turned into speed walking, which then turned into a good run. I returned home feeling better than I had in weeks and had a restful sleep that night. The following morning, I felt energized. I texted Dave, my personal trainer at Premium Performance Fitness (PPF), and scheduled a workout.

Regular exercise has a direct positive impact on mental health. It’s a proven fact that those who get regular exercise have a better sense of well-being. Exercise leads to more energy throughout the day, better memory, better quality sleep, improved digestion and more a positive outlook. How can you argue with that?

I committed to working out with Dave and Mark at PPF more frequently and I feel BETTER. I feel better coping with daily stresses and I cannot tell you how great it is to get a full night’s rest! The sleepless nights where I worried about any and everything are gone. I mean, it’s easy to fall into a deep sleep after Dave forces you to do a couple hundred cycle squats – LOL! #notfunny

Working out more frequently with my personal trainers also keeps me looking great. My legs look and feel strong, leading to better runs. My arms look long, lean and sculpted (I think I’d make Michelle Obama proud). For the first time in my life, I have abs thanks the personalized fitness regimen that Dave created for me.

Exercise is now a regular part of my life and no longer just a reason to look great in a bikini. It has boosted my self-esteem and is a great coping mechanism for dealing with life in general. It doesn’t hurt too that Premium Performance feels like a bit of an escape with its luxe decor and friendly community.

Next time you’re feeling a little down, try a little exercise. Even a simple walk will do your inner voice some good!

That’s so true. While I don’t have a personal trainer, I use the NIKE app at home, and just the silly position my virtual instructor gets me to do, during Yoga, makes me laugh out loud. That in itself is very de-stressing.
I actually get high beating the clock when I go for runs; which is, sadly, not as often as I would have loved to do.
    Greatbody, there.😚😚
