UPDATE: Chanel Bag Savings Progress

Well, it’s been about a month since I started saving for my dream bag: a Chanel Quilted Medium Double Flap Bag in lambskin with gold hardware.

I figure at this rate, I should have my bag in approximately…never. Sigh.

Only Chanel bag I can afford?

October was a month full of expenses. My husband and I had our basement renovated (it looks AHM-mazing), we are refinishing our pool table, I went to Toronto for World MasterCard Fashion Week and I have been socking away a little money for Christmas.Β Ottawa Fashion Blogger Style Domination Chanel Bag

This is a slow start, and I hope to speed up my saving. Not sure how I’m going to do that…but right now, I’m eyeing my overstuffed closet and thinking an eBay sale is in my immediate future….or selling vital organs on the black market.

Talk soon,

Do they have The Real Real in Canada? I love them! It’s online consignment, but what makes them different (and special) is a. You will get 60% of what sells and b. They will come to your house to get the clothing/accessories. I love them and highly recommend them. If you use them, tell them I referred you because once you sell a certain amount and/or refer a certain number of people, your commission will go up to 70%! Anyways, depending on your closet- it could be a huge help! Good luck. Xoxo http://www.quintessentialjill.con

OMG! So many people have suggested The Real Real! I will definitely look them up…not sure if they are in Canada though. Thank you so much for the suggestion, and if I do go with them, I will most definitely let them know you referred me! Thanks Jill! xoxo

Lol I was so not expecting you to say “approximately never” cracked me up!!

    • November 3, 2015 / 12:50 pm

HAHAHA! That kinda cracked me up too after I dried the tears. LOL! Thanks for reading!

LOL Love that Chanel de paperbag! It’ll be ALL the rage in 2016. πŸ˜›
Chanel bags hold absolutely NO appeal for me. I don’t find the quilted look or the chain strap to be “me”. But I think it’s good that you’re saving up for it rather than buying it with money you don’t have… which LOTS of people do, it’s so ridiculous!

    • November 3, 2015 / 12:49 pm

Yeah – I refuse to go into debt for this bag. I love these bags. I feel other than the Birkin, they are the most classic of all designer handbags.

      • November 3, 2015 / 12:51 pm

A Birkin is more my style! But I still can’t justify…. I’d rather take an awesome trip with that money! πŸ˜›

I’d watch for a good deal on fashion file or another site. There seem to be a lot of 2.55’s offered for sale on these sites.

    • November 3, 2015 / 4:21 pm

Patti – I noticed that. The Chanel Reissue 2.55 seem to be so much less expensive than my “goal bag”. Very good point – something to consider. Thanks!

Also checkout the Lovethatbag site from Momtreal. You can find birkins too!

Thanks Patti! I’m on it! I’ll check out their site soon. OMG – they have layaway!!!! Hahahaha! WONDERFUL!! Great tip, Patti!!

Love the pie graph. πŸ˜€ I also like to save up for a splurge – debt is BAD. I don’t have anything big on my immediate wishlist to save for, which is nice. But of course it just means I fritter too much away on a multitude of small purchases!

That Chanel is my fave of their current styles. I hope you get to your goal soon, and enjoy the hell out of the bag!

    • November 3, 2015 / 4:20 pm

Thank you so much! Almost everyone has been so positive about this. I know it’s frivolous, but it makes me happy and I’m not hurting anyone! AND I’m going about it the right way! LOL! And I used Piktochart to create that pie graph in case you’re wondering! Take care and thanks for reading! xoxoxox

  8. November 3, 2015 / 3:38 pm

Well that’s 8% more than I have for a Chanel bag! We did just splurge on a camera though that would be a good portion of bag savings haha. You’ll get there sooner than later Hun!

    • November 3, 2015 / 4:15 pm

Thanks, babe! Thanks for your encouragement! The trip to Toronto really slowed it down! Sigh. Congrats on the camera purchase! xoxox

  9. November 3, 2015 / 5:53 pm

LOL!!! ? Love the chart! 8% is better than 0%! x

    • November 3, 2015 / 8:23 pm

I love my little chart too! Such a cute little 8%!!! Hahahahaha!

  10. November 3, 2015 / 10:27 pm

How responsible! Saving up before buying! πŸ™‚

    • November 3, 2015 / 10:52 pm

The one smart buying decision I’ve ever made. Lol!!!

  11. November 4, 2015 / 6:25 am

You’ll get there, I promise! You can do anything you put your mind to!

    • November 4, 2015 / 10:24 am

Davis – you’re the best! Thanks for supporting my materialistic dreams – lol! xo

  12. November 4, 2015 / 2:43 pm

I’ve been saving up for a LV luggage set, so I feel your pain. The struggle! But we’ll get there! ❀

    • November 4, 2015 / 3:34 pm

The struggle is real, isn’t it! Have you blogged about your saving methods at all? I’d be interested to read…and good for you. A set of LV luggage is so classic and timeless…and can double as home decor!

  13. November 4, 2015 / 3:21 pm

Hahahaha @sell a vital organ, not to worry you will get the bag

    • November 4, 2015 / 3:33 pm

Yeah – after I sell an arm and a leg! LOL! xoxox

  14. November 4, 2015 / 3:22 pm

Do you think you would be interested in a collaboration?

      • November 4, 2015 / 3:43 pm

Maybe something fashion and makeup related, I’ve never done one before so I don’t really know how it’s done

        • November 4, 2015 / 4:31 pm

Give it some thought and do some research on the net, and let me know what you come up with! ;o)

Vital organs are overrated. Who needs TWO kidneys when you can sell one and get a fabulous Chanel bag??? xo Gina

    • November 6, 2015 / 9:26 am

Thank you, Gina. Finally…someone understands! LOL! xoxoxo
