Lingerie was never really something I cared about. It’s hidden underneath your clothes, out of everyone’s view. As long as it did the job, who cared what it looked like, right? Frankly, I looked at bras as things that held up my boobs to ensure that they didn’t hit my knees when I walked, and that was it.
I experienced real French lace, and pretty underthings like merry widows, garters, tap pants and silk nighties so fine and so soft, they might as well have been made of air.

Once I got back to Ottawa (sigh), I got off my wallet and started building a lingerie collection that I was proud of. I got fitted properly too. No more sagging, loose bra straps. No more “double lumpage” thanks to me jamming my poor girls into demi cups (just not for me) or bras that are entirely too small. I also discovered gorgeous panties! Comfort didn’t have to equal “boring”. I happily dove head first into the world of lovely, feminine thongs, lacy boy shorts and silk tap pants. Btw, you have not lived until you’ve slipped on silky tap pants.
One thing that was a little depressing was the fact that fine lingerie costs some seriously fine dollars. I would save up and buy two bras at a favourite lingerie specialty store and easily spend $300-400, and another $150 for matching panties. Just for once, I wanted some intimates that didn’t break the bank, but were still lovely, high quality and made me feel confident and beautiful.

In comes Sears Canada. Bralettes have hit the scene in a big way and I really wanted one. Unfortunately, most that I tried were flimsy with zero support, or looked a little childish. I was thrilled when I found this sweet, little baby pink set at – of all places – Sears Canada! Despite the fine detailing, comfortable lace, and perfect fit, it came in at a budget-friendly $14.97. The matching panties? $5.99. $5.99!!!! Man…I love a deal.

Sears Canada actually surveyed women across the country regarding their “lingerie habits”. They found that one of the things that boosted a woman’s self-confidence and made her feel sexy and beautiful was a great set of bra and panties. Other things they found out through the survey:
- Over 1 in 3 Canadian women have a “favourite” pair of undies they reserve for special occasions;
- Black is beautiful!! Of the Canadian women who have a colour preference, 65% feel most confident in this ever-classic hue;
- 54% of millennials love their lace, saying it is their favourite feature for undies;
- 46% of Canadian women prefer pastel colours (bright colours and fun patterns being reportedly less popular);
- 59% of dating women buy undies every 2-3 months or more often than that (I used to buy lingerie once every…oh, I don’t know…100 years?);
- Whereas 61% of women married or in a common-law relationship purchase bras and panties twice annually or less (this was old Dom).
You owe it to yourselves to give the reinvented Sears Canada a whirl and check out their great lingerie offerings at great prices. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!
I’m loving all things lingerie these days. Let me know what your favourite intimates are in the comments!

Wow! What a great read’ you look so lovely in your beautiful Lace bralette. I need to up my lingerie game! I am a fan of Sears too! I haven’t visited one in a while because our local one closed. You’re so right! We deserve to feel sexy and I am like you were kind of uncomfortable with the whole lingerie thing. Reading this and seeing the stats made me take notice. The icing on the cake is Sears Canada! I have no excuse not to purchase now.
So pretty! I think I avoid pretty lingerie because it is so uncomfortable. I don’t want underwires or anything like that. This looks really beautiful and comfortable! I may revisit the idea.
Very pretty! I have the same problem with bralettes, they can’t contain the girls, LOL. I’ll have to check this one out.
Lingerie is something I need to invest in. I wasn’t into it when I was younger, but now I find myself drifting towards it more when I’m out shopping.
love this!!! i need get my lingerie game up!!
Love the research you did for your statistics! Great information & great post!

I hope this place ships to the US bc I’m going to definitely try some items. I never really cared either about my undies, but I must say matching panties and bra do look great on.
Love the soft pink lingerie! So cute!
I think every woman should own at least one pair of lingerie not only for your spouse but for yourself. I think it makes you feel sexy and beautiful. I like the lingerie you are wearing.
Very Pretty!!! I was just saying to myself that this is something that I need to stock up on right now. Its time for some new items. These are all very pretty!!
For undies, I do love black and I love lace too. I need to get some new lingerie pieces soon!
I am a sucker for beautiful lingerie!! These pieces are gorgeous and look amazing on you!
This looks so sexy. I am a sweats and tshirt gal for sleeping but I wouldn’t mind adding a few pieces like this to my collection for the times I am feeling sexy.
These lingerie pieces are beautiful. I can hardly ever find lingerie that offers full support, which makes me feel slightly uncomfortable.
Very pretty and very fun!
LOVE this! and You look amazing!!! I did a boudoir shoot last year and the most fun and also stressful part was picking out the perfect lingerie pieces for it.

Oh Wow! WAY TO GO! I’m a little too chicken for full-on boudoir, but maybe one day! Thanks for your kind words!
I did not know Sears carried anything that looked like that. These are really pretty, sexy and delicate pieces. I wonder if they can hold up my 32G cups.

32G might be a stretch! WOW. But Sears has really upped their game! Gorgeous pieces to be had in store!
I love black lace intimates and lacy boy short briefs are the most comfortable yet sexy.
