Do you have a favourite piece of jewelry? I do, well I have three. My grandmother’s golden crucifix that she left to me and my wedding rings. I wear these pieces almost every day and never get sick of them or take them for granted.
I’m very partial to delicate, great quality jewelry. I feel that you can pair this sort of jewelry with almost anything. Delicate jewels, in my opinion, also enhance an outfit as opposed to overpowering it…although I would be fine with a giant diamond overpowering any outfit!
The latest offerings from ALEX AND ANI really struck a chord with me. I’m a huge fan of this eco-friendly brand as their vision really resonates with my own beliefs. Each piece has a positive angle to it and emanates such good intentions. For example, if I’m feeling a little stressed and need a little calm, I reach for my ALEX AND ANI jade pendant necklace. Jade is known for promoting wisdom, calm, balance and peace.
Some days, I feel nostalgic for New York, so I wear my Liberty Copper #CarryLight Expandable Necklace, which is made from left over pieces of copper from the Statue of Liberty. Yeah – that’s right. THE STATUE OF LIBERTY.
Each of my ALEX AND ANI pieces means something special to me, and I love that the brand offers more than just cute looks. On top of all the feels, the brand’s pieces are made from recycled materials. ALEX AND ANI also supports many charities such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, the ASPCA and the March of Dimes.
My new pieces are GORGEOUS. I’ve been wearing them on repeat because they look great with all of my fave fall clothing. The Arrowhead Expandable Necklace I wear as a choker. I bought a bunch of chunky v-neck sweaters for the impending cold weather and these necklaces always add a little sparkle. Sometimes I double it up with my Spirited Skull Expandable Necklace too. This one is a favourite thanks to its wonderful significance: “Cattle, a symbol of abundance, are ceremoniously celebrated and considered holy in some religions. The strength and beauty of their skull is celebrated with elaborate design. To honor bones is to return to our roots without fear.”
A friend of mine also taught me a few cute ways to wear the Expandable Necklaces too. On top of layering them, turn them around so that the long chains dangle in front, as opposed to down your back! I wore this look to Toronto Fashion Week and got a ton of compliments!
My favourite jewelry look for fall though is this ALEX AND ANI arm party! The Arrowhead Charm Bangle, Spirited Skull Bangle and Horn Charm Bangle are my favourites of all my ALEX AND ANI jewelry! Wearing them daily, the bring a little joy and peace to the usual everyday happenings. Horns are special symbols too, with their air of prestige, and abundance of power and life force. It is thought that due to their shape, they focus energy, promote longevity and fertility. The horn is also a symbol of plenty – a token of abundance and luck.
Life has been really good lately, and I intend to draw even more positivity into my life with these pieces that are more than just “pretty”.

Very lovely and so feminine … I am wearing my late grandma’s pearl earrings. A reminder of her resilience and peace throughout her 83 years; and a sterling silver delicate chain necklace, it has links of very tiny flowers held together with stick-like pieces. It’s so unusual and I got it at a consignment shop near my home. I saw a similar Jade necklace that I will be picking up today!
