I love myself a Sunday with no obligations. Seriously…is there anything better than waking up after a good sleep with a whole day to yourself? No chores, no running around, just non-stop relaxation.
This was one of those Sundays. It was sunny, warm and the perfect day to grab Alyssa and go for a good London Fog latte at a favourite café. I didn’t want to schlep around in sweats either or wear my usual Dom uniform consisting of a black top and jeans. Nope – I was reaching for a summer staple – nautical stripes and my slightly obnoxious captain hat. Seize the day, right?
This little dress from RW & Co. fit the bill nicely. I love the look of a shirtdress cinched at the waist. It’s effortless and the navy and white stripes are about as classic as you can get. Years ago, I saw a similar design by a high-end designer that was completely out of my budget. Just like this dress, it fit perfectly and looked amazing as both a dress or worn as a shirt over jeans. I’d think about that dress each and every spring, kicking myself for not taking the plunge and buying it.
I guess thinking about it for that long was akin to “putting it out in the Universe” – willing it into my hot little hands. That was the exact thought that ran through my head when RW&Co. gifted me with this dress along with few more adorable dresses for spring. Maybe watching The Secret was worth it. Maybe if I wish hard enough, a red Porsche 911 will magically appear in my driveway….
Since I can be a little extra, I decided to wear my beloved Stetson captain hat with my little striped dress and my favourite suede espadrilles from L’Intervalle. Spring was in full force and I was taking advantage! All I needed was a sailboat…and a crew of course to sail me around.
