One of the many reasons I love Ottawa is because my city hosts one of the best outdoor music festivals in the world as highlighted by Rolling Stone Magazine – RBC Ottawa Bluesfest. This year, some of the acts performing include Kanye West and Iggy Azalea. Really looking forward to it!
I go every year with Ryan and our group of friends and our experiences have been epic, to say the least. Rocked out to Black Keys, Lady Gaga blew my mind last year, discovered that Fergie is absolutely horrible live, realized that I’m super old after catching Tyler the Creator (that’s music?), and discovering hundreds of new amazing bands is always a highlight.
Another highlight is the fashion. THE FASHION!!! When I first started going to Bluesfest about a decade ago, people dressed comfortably to survive the blast furnace we call “summer” in Ottawa. T-shirts, tank tops, cargo shorts (to sneak in booze) and flip flops. That was the uniform. Now – music festival fashion has taken over! I cannot believe it. It’s like a real life fashion show. I don’t know what’s more fun…catching my favourite bands or seeing what the crowd is wearing! Here are some of my favourite festival fashion looks inspired by Coachella 2015…which I am sad to say I am not witnessing right now. #nochella
Oh – and let’s not forget the crazy….
What are some of your favourite looks? Which celebrities rock the best music festival fashion in your opinion? Attending any music festivals this year? Let me know in the comments!
xo,
Dominique
Festival fashion is the bomb!
I was at Jazzfest last year and it was off the MF hook!
We also saw the Black Keys (freaking love them), Frank Ocean was there making everybody sway and I got introduced to some awesome brass bands from S. America.
Suffering from #noChella over here too but I’ll probably make up for it by hitting the Made in America festival in Philly 😀

MAN – I LOVED the Black Keys! I wasn’t reallly a fan – especially since my husband plays their tracks on repeat constantly in our house, but all of that changed the first time I saw them. Man – that drummer kicks some ass. We have our own Jazzfest too which is mindblowing. The Roots are coming this year and they are great live, and I’ve seen countless great acts – everyone from The Heavy to Aretha Franklin (that lady has some pipes – my GOD). So yeah – love everything about festival fashion. I think this year I’ll go extra hippie and actually wear a flower crown. I’ll see how annoying I feel first. LOL! P.S. Made in America festival, eh? (I’m so Canadian). I have family in Philly – I should check it out!
Oh m Geee!!
It’s like we like the same bands. Def check out the Made In America festival. It’s ridic.
My friend Amy was the same way with the Black Keys but after Jazzfest she couldn’t stop going, “Ohhh oh oh ohhhh, I’ve got a lonely boooy, ohhh oh oh oh, I’ve got..”
Cracking me up.
I love The Roots & The Heavy & Artic Monkeys.
Florence and the Machine is having a show here in June and I can’t flippin wait!
Yaaay festival season 🙂 🙂

Yeah! I play “I Got Mine” by the Black Keys on repeat when I run. LOL! Sooo happy music festical season is here! I will be posting throughout the summer pics of friends and I at various music festivals so please weigh in when you can. YEs – I will be inebriated in most shots. LOL! Mmmmm…shots….
Hahaha!
My ‘I’m shattered but still gonna take that shot’ spirit is with you.
Go forth and make me proud 😀
I have not been to a music fest in a couple of years, but Chicago has many from Lollapalooza to Blues Fest to Jazz Fest and on and on. LOL. I’ve been a bit on the tamer side and have done Ravinia for the last few years, where it’s a bit more tamed. I love the fashion though. Your festival looks are great and seem to marry fashion and comfort. The perfect combo when going to a music fest.

Oh definitely. Comfort is key – especially at music festivals where it gets so hot and dusty/muddy. While I love music festivals, they can get pretty overwhelming. Our Bluesfest here attracts over 100,000 people so if you don’t like crowds…it’s not for everybody! I would love to go to Chicago and check out some blues and jazz! I’ve traveled throughout the US extensively and I’m ashamed to say that I have yet to land in Chicago. One day!
I don’t really have a problem with crowds, so it’s no biggie. You should definitely come check out Chi-town! Lots to see and do. I’d definitely like to do a guide someday down the road, but feel free to ask for any recos anytime if you ever make your way here 🙂

I most definitely will! When Oprah was doing her talk show, some of my girlfriends and I were supposed to fly down and catch a show. I can’t remember what happened but plans got scrapped. My hubbie’s been to Chicago several times for work – I will stowaway in his suitcase the next time he goes! Haha!
A little Coachella Style going on here! You look so stunning, cut off jean shorts are the best… #daisydukes
