Every now and then I buy something that truly rekindles my love affair with fashion. I’ll admit – I shop so much and see so many trends, that not too many things really excite me like they used to. Sure, it’s great picking up new items, but that feeling of having your heart skip a beat at seeing a prized handbag in a store window, or a sumptuous, fine quality cashmere sweater folded perfectly in a display? Those warm and fuzzy feelings sometimes get lost among the countless so-so pieces out there.
Well, this stunning brocade coat from Dezzal made my heart skip a beat. I remember seeing a streetstyle pic of eternally stylish Mira Duma, swanning around in a fabulous chartreuse brocade number from Prada and mentally noting to find something like this (but a tad more budget friendly). I started fantasizing as I always do, thinking of all the places I could wear such a stunner: Christmas parties, out for high tea with girlfriends… Hey – I’d wear it anywhere frankly! Grocery store, to work if I’m feeling uber fancy, vacuuming…you name it. I wanted that coat – I needed it.
While perusing the Dezzal site for Holiday party outfits, I found my fantasy coat. A brocade dazzler in eye-catching shades of cobalt, salmon and pearl. I clicked on the picture as my fashion-obsessed heart raced while praying that they had my size. They did. “ADD TO BAG!! ADD TO BAG!! ADD TO BAG!!!” my brain screamed furiously as my fingers clicked on the mouse. A few short days later, I came home from work to a big box on my doorstep…and again, my heart skipped a beat.
Dezzal did not disappoint! The jacket is lustrous! The brocade has a soft sheen, the lining is quilted for extra warmth, and the knotted button detail screams “quality”. I wore it out for a day at the War Museum (I’m a museum buff), paired it with my favourite jeans and some Stan Smiths for a casual look and got tons of stares. Made me quite happy. Overall, the whole Dezzal experience was stellar. Here I am, adding items to my cart again, in a Black Friday Sale-induced frenzy. Sigh – I must work on my minimalism…
A big thank you to Dezzal for the beautiful coat in exchange for my honest opinion!
