One thing I do love about winter is how early sunsets bathe the city in a warm glow. Everything looks better in the golden hour: people look a little happier despite the chill, the snow sparkles and the slight warmth reminds me of spring days.

Well, this particular day provided one of the best examples of the golden hour ever. It was so sunny outside that my sister Erika and I decided to go downtown, grab some lunch and check out the post-Christmas sales. My first stop was Ecco to check out the Ecco Soft 3 High Tops in white, as I love my black ones so much.
I’ve been wearing them on the daily lately, as I love these high tops with their lace-like look that adds a feminine touch to their cool vibe. Couple that with the fact that they are so comfortable (wow), you basically have the perfect shoe.
Now, I pretty much live in jeans, but these shoes are so cute that I decided to run with their pretty touches and pair them with fishnet stockings, a cute little mini skirt and golden details for our shopping date. I got quite a few stares, which I chalk up to my rock solid shoe game and left the mall with a little ego boost when a teen offered up: “Nice kicks, sis” as I tied my shoe. *dusts off shoulders*
