Blogger Preview: Banana Republic Pre-Fall Event!

I was thrilled to be invited to a special breakfast event this morning to preview the Banana Republic Pre-Fall Collection.  My sweet friend Marilou of 20 York Street extended the invite to me and I hopped at the chance to go.

I got up bright and early this morning to attend the 7:30am event and got a tour of the new collection and tried on just about each new piece. This collection features lots of blush pink colours, flowy fabrics, beautiful delicate prints and shots of army green and navy were punctuated throughout.

I was thrilled to see that pretty pastels and some jewel tones such as cobalt blue would be big this fall.  I don’t care what anyone says, but cobalt blue looks wonderful on everyone!  I happily handed over my exhausted, used-to-death credit card in exchange for some classic pieces to add to my fall wardrobe…all of which will transition nicely from the oppressive August heat to the milder, crisper September temperatures.  Also, Marilou’s invite couldn’t have come at a better time…my work wardrobe was looking sad and tired.

Here are some pics of the event and pieces I scored today!  Be sure to check out the Friends & Family event which runs from August 19th to 23rd!

Ooooo! Pre-fall events are so much fun; great opportunity to mingle and indulge in goodies for everyone’s favorite season of fabulous fashion. I am super stoked that cobalt blue will be the it color this upcoming fall AND I completely agree with you that the color looks stunning on everyone.

Yes! It really was a lot of fun! We here in Ontario are thrilled that there will be a lot of colour in this year’s fall collections – especially since our winters are so very long, FREEZING and dreary! xo

I went to Bayshore last night with my son in a frantic panic… #FOMO!! But I only got 2 things 🙁

That looks like so much fun! Love all your clothes choices. Hope we get the same over in the UK xx

Aww – me too! I popped into the Banana Republic near Oxford Circus and it was wayyyyyy nicer than any of the stores over here. That being said, the UK prices were ridiculous.

Tell me about it! Worth a visit to the U.S. Just to stock up! 😉

Personally I’m feeling thrilled that pink is making past summer … Especially that beautiful blush.

This time of year, I usually wear my whites and pastels in a frenzy, figuring it’s my last chance before Fall.

I love the idea of taking my time and letting the colors transition more slowly.

    Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

(& P.S. You do, in fact, look amazing in that cobalt blue.)

Thank you so much! I’m LOVING the pastels for all, especially that blush pink! Our winters are so long and ridiculous, that I wear pastels and white jeans all year long…trying to trick myself into thinking it’s summer! Haha!

^^ That sounds so fun. I’m stealing a page from your playbook this winter, for sure! 🙂

I absolutely love the preview of this collection. I may end up popping to Banana Republic for my fall shopping, so thanks for the tip!!
The dress you’re wearing, that white ruffle one? SO SO SO CUTE. I love the big ruffles on it so much.

You’re welcome! You should see it outside, when the wind catches the ruffles – so pretty! It’s still on their website. ;o) Thanks for reading!

Thanks, Mojisola! That means a lot coming from such a stylish lovely as yourself!

Wow! Thank you so much! That dress is so “polarizing” – people either love it or hate it. I find women love it, and men say that I’m wearing the dress version of Seinfeld’s “Puffy Pirate Shirt” – lol! Thanks for reading!
