As a diehard jewelry lover, I spend a good chunk of change on sparkly treasures. A few years ago during a trip to the States, I noticed fashionistas sporting some serious arm game…their wrists adorned with tons of bangles with cute little dangling charms. I later found out that Alex and Ani was a huge trend down south, and treated myself to an Eye of Horus bracelet which I treasure.
What I love about this particular brand other than the fact that it is eco-conscious and sustainably created, is that a lot of the pieces hold a lot of special meaning. Many feature world renown symbols such as those of the Zodiac, Armenian crosses and Egyptian hieroglyphics, semi-precious stones or are made of unique materials. For example, their beautiful Liberty Copper line is comprised of jewelry made from the original copper preserved from the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. How cool is that?
So, fast forward to Summer 2016 and Alex and Ani finally graces little ol’ Ottawa with its presence! Tonight was the grand opening of Ottawa’s first Alex and Ani store at the newly expanded CF Rideau Centre, and I was thrilled to host this fun event!
Guests were treated to cupcakes and David’s Tea while they shopped the entire Alex and Ani collection. I was thrilled to meet the Alex and Ani fans, some of whom had impressive collections of their own. I was also thrilled to meet all of the new customers that the night attracted and a bunch of my blog followers! What a thrill!
