SD Beauty Review: Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm in Lemon

Hey all!

I wanted to review this lip balm for all of you because it has become a staple in my daily routine.

On a trip to Sephora to re-up on some favourites, I got sucked into the display of impulse purchase offerings at the cash register.  This Jack Black lip balm was one of them.  It was the dead of winter and my lips rivalled sandpaper, so at $8 I thought – what the hell.  Let’s give her a whirl.

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

SO GLAD I DID.  First off, it smells like lemon vanilla, which instantly makes me think of lemon meringue  pie, my favourite!  Secondly, the consistency is super creamy, despite its vaseline-like look.  It is also colourless.  It doesn’t wear off easily, a total bonus and is also SPF 25 which is great since my lips tend to burn in the summer.  Best of all, it’s meant to be applied directly to lips which cuts down on any bacterial contamination.  Of note, the formulation contains no parabens, sulfates or phthalates.

This lip balm is also available in grapefruit and ginger, lemon and chamomile, black tea and blackberry, shea butter and vitamin E and “original”.  I have a sinking feeling that the lemon version I bought is now “lemon chamomile”.  Once this tube is finished, I will repurchase the lemon chamomile for a later review.

Jack Black is marketed as a line for men, but there are a few products that I’m dying to try!  Maybe I’ll buy some for Ryan then bogart them – lol!

Have any of you had a chance to try out this lip balm?  Anyone try the black tea and blackberry?  That one is on my wishlist!  Let me know what you think in the comments!

xo,

Dominique

One can never have too many lip balms! Looks like this one’s going on my list. I’ve never tried it, but now I must after reading your review. My hubby thinks I buy too many lip balms, but he uses them, too! It’s not like we have a lip balm fairy to replenish them!

It isn’t truly fantastic lip balm. Great for the harsh, Canadian winters I suffer through each year. Lol!
