After completing a little research on award-winning Rocky Mountain Soap Company, I was left thoroughly impressed. This Canadian company specializing in small-batch, 100% natural beauty products, prides themselves on working directly with growers producing the highest quality natural products. On top of this, Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s vision is to provide the customer with a “purely joyful experience”. Well my friends, they are delivering.
I was provided with a bunch of samples to test out for the blog and I can say wholeheartedly that the products are stellar. Three in particular are standouts for me: the wonderfully-scented Bamboo Body Scrub (heaven!), the After Sun Butter and the Calming Face Serum. These three products have proven to be highly effective at softening and brightening skin and are full of ingredients that I love such as coconut oil, aloe, calendula and peppermint oil.
Let’s get into this review so I can show you why I’m raving about this toxin-free, homegrown company…
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Bamboo Body Scrub
When no one is looking, I take this Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Bamboo Body Scrub, open it up and take a few long, deep whiffs of it. I assume this is what heaven smells like. Spearmint and grapefruit essential oils along with fine bamboo powder and shea butter make up this awesome scrub’s ingredient list.
If you have dry, itchy skin lacking glow, I highly recommend this product. The bamboo powder revitalizes lifeless skin and exfoliates gently, while shea butter hydrates thirsty skin. The spearmint and grapefruit oils take “refreshing” to new levels too. I reach for this scrub on those mornings where I’m an exhausted zombie…which is pretty much every morning. That being said, use this only 3-4 times a week and get your scrub on in the shower or bathtub. Hope you like dewy, healthy skin because this stuff delivers.
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. After Sun Butter
OK! This product is my favourite of the bunch! I have been using this steadily since the summer has started. After long days puttering around in the garden, I will smooth a little of this on my shoulders, upper back and chest to soothe my skin. While I rarely sunburn thanks to all of this chocolatey melanin, my skin will turn a little red after hours in the sun (I guess that is a bit of a burn, isn’t it?).
This luxurious and rich butter in a stick format glides on smoothly and leaves skin with a dewy glow that makes me SO HAPPY. I am all about the dewiness, kids.
This After Sun Butter is so effective thanks to its stellar ingredient list which includes aloe, lavender, and calendula. Highly effective at restoring your sun-worn skin and taking the sting out of minor burns, this product is incredibly effective. Really love it.
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Calming Face Serum
I have really been enjoying face oils lately. Many are afraid of the words “face oils”, fearing that they will be left with greasy, shiny skin. Not so. Many face oils balance your skin really well and with consistent use, will reduce greasy skin.
Rocky Mountain Soap Co.’s Calming Face Serum is very soothing and hydrating. It smells incredible too – picture those gorgeous, purple lavender fields in France. Main ingredients of this product are lavender and calendula oils which penetrate the skin deeply. After several weeks of use, my skin is really soft and smooth.
Of note, this serum offers a mild tingling and refreshing sensation. Perfect for those mornings when you need a little pick me up. Lastly, I found that my makeup went on really well after applying 3-4 drops of this serum to my face. Foundation and concealer seemed more even and I required a little less of both products – score!
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Restorative Face Mask
Comprised of ginseng and spirulina, the Restorative Face Mask is great particularly for mature skin as it reduces the appearance of fine lines and minor wrinkles. Combine this powder with water to make a paste and smooth onto your skin. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse off. I also like to run a face cloth under hot water, wringing the excess water out well, and removing the dried paste with the warm wash cloth to boost exfoliation.
I added this product to my “Sunday Spa Days”, and definitely noticed way brighter skin immediately. A little goes a long way too so you get real bang for your buck with this mask.
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Aromatherapy Tension Relief +
My “plant-based”, vegan sister swears by natural remedies to relieve headaches, and will often use peppermint essential oils on her temples and other pulse points to relieve pain. I was always suspect of her “flower child” methods until a terrible tension headache sidelined me and I decided to give this a whirl.
Grabbing this stick made with beeswax, lavender, peppermint, sesame, sunflower oils along with cocoa butter, I applied to my wrists, temples and under my chin. My bed was calling my name, so I drank a big glass of water and had a good lie down. After about an hour, I started to feel much better and less anxious too! Definitely worth a try, you guys. Can’t hurt!
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Lip Quench – Fresh Fig
The Lip Quench lip gloss is fabulous! I absolutely love the consistency – soft, glossy and delivers the perfect hint of pinky plum for my dark skin tone. On all skin tones, it will make you look like you’ve just eaten a cherry popsicle, delivering just a natural hint of colour.
The product is lightly scented of peppermint and made with organic avocado, beeswax and coconut oil. It is also tinted using 100% natural mica and iron oxides. I have been using this regularly and it is one of those perfect lip glosses that you can put on without a mirror – which is great because it seems like I’m always running around like a stress bomb. Lip Quench is also making my lips super soft. Will definitely be stocking up for winter! Best of all? You can upcycle the packaging to grow seedlings! YAY gardening!
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Beech Tree Bud Eye Cream
The Beech Tree is known as the “Tree of Everlasting Youth”. When I read that, I immediately slathered some of this creamy formula under my eyes.
Made with Coconut and Jojoba Oils, Beech Tree Bud Eye Cream firms up the delicate skin under eyes and delivers a huge surge of hydration. Other ingredients in this eye cream are Ginseng and Green Team which diminish fine lines and wrinkles.
What I liked in particular about this eye cream is that it is not overly thick and “goopy”. Some eye creams I’ve tried in the past are too thick and a little on the greasy side, which makes applying concealer nearly impossible.
This eye cream is light and matte, and very comfortable to wear. Remember, when applying, pat gently around the eye area. Don’t tug and pull! That just leads to more wrinkling and sagging in the future.
Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Honey, Oats and Cocoa Butter Soap
I LOVED THIS SOAP! It’s is perfect for my skin which tends to be a little on the dry side, especially after shaving. In fact, on days when I needed to shave my legs, I would use this soap beforehand. It greatly reduced the tightness, dryness and itching I normally experience after shaving. I chalk that up to this lovely soap being loaded which soothing oats and honey.
Very mild, this soap replenishes moisture to parched skin. Cocoa Butter is a hydration rock star while honey is a natural at protecting the skin from losing moisture after washing. With its light, sweet, honey scent, it is a total pleasure to use. It also rinses cleanly which is a major bonus for me (I hate soap that leaves a weird, drying film).
This soap is so mild, that is great to use as a facial cleanser. It is also sold in a large slab format for those of you who will surely get hooked on it.
I really loved these products and I’m proud to support the Rocky Mountain Soap Company. Take some time to check out their website and read up on all of the great work they are doing to support Canadian communities. Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s products are toxin-free, all natural, organic and not tested on animals. Most packaging is biodegradable and all glass and plastic containers are recyclable.

Hi there! If you intend to use for any skin conditions, I would definitely consult a doctor first. Good luck!

I’ve never heard of this brand before and I like what I see. The Bamboo Body Scrub sounds heavenly! I may have to buy this as soon as the end of the week!
I love all natural products. I’m constantly trying new prioducts and experimenting with my daughter. I will have to keep this company on my radar.
OMG I’m a natural skin care junkie and I love finding new labels to try! I loved your reviews and I’m definitely looking these up now…
I use the natural shampoo & conditioner, really love it, I have psoriasis in my scalp and on my body, it has cut down on the itching; I also use the green wisdom all heal salve for my elbows, hands & feet, it’s not greasy and helps with itching; I also use the deodorant & body soap and the foot scrub & butter are great too. Now after reading this article I’m going to buy the face serum, body scrub, lip quench & face mask, can’t wait to try all these products and I want to try the natural toothpaste too. I love this shop, but I’ll probably be broke when I leave!

Hey Tanya! That’s so fantastic to read – the part about the products helping your condition, not the going broke part – lol! I’m really loving this company and their overall philosophy. I wasn’t aware of the toothpaste. Going to buy some of that now!!! Thanks for the heads up. Let’s go broke together!
