The Best Ways To Cover Your Greys Easily – L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up

Relaxed hair is a funny, delicate thing. Originally, relaxer treatments (a chemical treatment used to break down bonds in hair to straighten it) were meant to literally “relax” hair and make it easier to manage. Instead, this drying and potentially damaging treatment forces you to baby the life out of your hair to keep it on your head. Trust me. I’ve been relaxing for years and it took a ton of trial and error to keep my hair healthy and happy.

With all of this relaxed hair experience, I’ve learned not to over-process my hair. No “relaxing and bleaching” or “relaxing and colouring”. Too much playing around with relaxed hair equals some serious damage.

Now that I’m in my 40s, grey hairs are starting to pop up everywhere. EVERYWHERE!!! Aging gracefully is a virtue, but I AM NOT READY FOR THIS. Each time I look in the mirror, a new grey hair joins the others. While it stresses me out, it doesn’t bother me enough to permanently colour my hair and risk damaging it.

The Solution: L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up & Magic Root Precision Brush

So, I did a little research on how to cover up greys safely and tested out a few products. The standout is L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up and Magic Root Precision Brush.

Both products were easy to use and effective. I didn’t have to commit to a damaging colour treatment and the finished look was natural.

What I loved best about this product (I chose the black spray) was that it is free of ammonia, peroxide and synthetic dyes. Thanks to this, I didn’t have to worry about it drying out my hair and making it look dull. In fact, after spraying it on, I still had shiny, manageable hair free of any stickiness.

How To Use The L’Oréal Magic Root Cover Up

Using this product is easy as pie. Simply give it a good shake and spray onto your dry hair about 10-15cm away from your roots with a light and steady pressure.

It takes about a minute to dry and is totally smudge-proof, so don’t worry about not being able to wear that favourite white outfit. You’re good. It lasts one shampoo also and it won’t stain your hair.

Let’s Get Precise – L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Precision Brush

I’ll admit that I don’t have too many grey hairs, but they are there, multiplying by the day. My grey hair saviour has been the L’Oréal Magic Root Precision Brush in Black.

This pen-shaped product is slim and so portable, that I keep mine in my handbag for quick touchups. It’s really easy to use, simply take of the cap, twist the bottom to prime the brush tip with product, and brush onto grey strands.

I have quite a few long grey hairs in the crown of my head, and the Magic Root Precision Brush conceals them quickly. Touch-ups are few and far between too because this product stays put until you wash it out.

This has been such a game changer that I will always keep one in my beauty arsenal. I can now shamefully tuck away the black magic marker I was previously using to cover up my greys. Yeahhh…I’m ashamed.

If you want to cover up your greys in a snap, these products are for you. Take a peek at the L’Oréal Paris website here for more information on the Magic Root Cover Up and Magic Root Precision Brush. Both come in a selection of colours for everyone.

Let me know in the comments if you try these products out!

Wow!!! Thank God, I found you! I have been greying since I turned twenty five😂😂 but, after the hair dye left my relaxed hair so brittle, I just sucked it up and been living with it.
Thanks a lot for this article. 💃😚😚

Can you put cover your gray after relaxing your hair. How long should I keep the colour in.

I get my hair coloured with semi-permanent dye by my hair stylist. She does it right after relaxing (same day) – but she is a professional using professional products!
